Shands Hospital

I love this hospital. My neice and son were born there. They diagnosed my son with autism and did everything they could to get him treatment for his diagnosis. I am thinking of taking him back to look at the behaviour specialist for his tantrums. I rather go there then the horrible hopsitals in the Ocala area. Monroe could have killed my daughter before she was born. I have never had the same issues with Shands.

The doctor's are very talented and a few nurses are quite good (some not so much). However, don't transfer a patient from another hospital to the vascular specialists. Even with Transfer papers, the doctor's do not let you take your loved ones home. We tried for about six weeks. The only reason we are getting him home is because he unexpectedly passed away in the nursing home they sent him to for REHAB. FYI, steer clear of Palm Gardens in Gainesville.
