Cryotherapy
Cryotherapy (liquid nitrogen) may freeze off the affected spots to treat actinic keratoses and noncancerous skin lesions. Several days following the patient’s cryotherapy treatment, their treated lesions darken in color and tone and, finally, fall off their skin. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are taking every precaution possible to ensure the safety of our patients, providers, and staff. As indicated by risk definitions by the CDC, the practice of dermatology falls in a lower risk category. Regardless, we are taking social distancing guidelines very seriously. You will find our spacious, airy office a welcome difference. Pregnancy

MRI
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Scan. An MRI scan looks for melanoma tumors in the brain and spinal cord.
Computed Tomography
Several tests may be used to stage a patient’s melanoma. Your dermatologist may use a sentinel lymph node biopsy, a CT scan, an MRI scan, a PET scan, and blood tests to determine the stage of your melanoma.
Chemotherapy
Chemotherapy is a cancer treatment that uses drugs to kill cancer cells. For cancers that are limites to the top layer of skin, topical medications containing anti-cancer agents may be used and applied directly to the skin. Systemic chemotherapy may be used in treatments for cancers that have spread to other areas of the body.
Radiation Therapy
Radiation therapy uses high-powered beams of energy to kill cancer cells. This form of treatment may be recommended in cases where the cancer cannot be completely removed through surgical excision.

Mohs Surgery
Patients who fail to show for an appointment or do not cancel at least 24 hours prior to the appointment time will be charged a $35 fee for general appointments, $50 for a surgery visit, and $100 for a Mohs Surgery appointment.

Skin Cancer

Acne Treatment
There’s no magical cure for acne, no matter how much we may want it. In fact, acne treatment often comes down to trial and error of a combination of treatments to discover the right solution for your unique skin. Having the input of a skincare specialist can help you quickly determine what is and is not working for you. Common treatments include the following.
Eczema
“Eczema” refers to a class of skin conditions that can cause a person’s skin to become irritated, itchy, and red — even resulting in blistering, peeling, or weeping. Atopic dermatitis is one of the most common types of eczema, so common that the terms eczema and atopic dermatitis are often interchangeable. Atopic dermatitis can be incredibly frustrating to live with, as its symptoms are often irritating, painful, and emotionally damaging. Lesions
If you notice any basal cell cancer symptoms, such as lesions or sores on your skin that do not heal or go away on their own, schedule an appointment with a medical dermatologist. When it comes to the amount of sunscreen you should use to effectively protect your skin from the sun, the greater the amount, the better (slathering on a dermatologist-approved sunscreen is just a good idea). In general, the average individual should use enough sunscreen to effectively cover their entire face and body, or 1 ounce. For most patients, the head and neck make up about 4% of their body’s surface area. As such, patients should use roughly.04 ounces of sunscreen on the face and neck, in addition to the ounce used to cover the rest of the body. When in doubt, err on the side of caution and apply more than you think you need (don’t forget to reapply!) Certain skin care products and makeup products may claim to include sun protection, though we advise against using these products as standalone sun-protection products. Instead, consider anything outside of your actual sunscreen product a bonus.
Microdermabrasion
Discovering what triggers acne outbreaks for your body can be a long process but well worth it. In general, avoid skincare and make-up products that can cause clogged pores. Instead, look for labels that say “non-comedogenic” or “oil-free.” Watching what you eat and staying hydrated is also important. Regular exercise can also help combat stress, leading to acne. Just be sure to properly shower afterward and use a light moisturizer if your skin is prone to dryness.
