Spicewood Flats Boarding Kennels & Grooming

My experience with Spicewood Flats has always been a very pleasant one. The owner has always conducted herself in a helpful and insightful manor. She is incredibly knowledgeable and always willing to take the time to help with any questions.

Everything was good up until pick up! Worried dog mom that I am i was hesitant about leaving my dogs for a few days anywhere. Normally they are with us or family. Drop off was good- they asked if we mind that the two dogs stay together I warned them the youngest will probably eat any fabric left in the run as well as the other dogs food and they would need to be separated for feedings. I left them with plenty of extra dog food a container that would.be 100% used up and about 6 extra scoops (that's 1 days worth of food). No phone calls while we away- no news is good news!! Upon arrival I was handed the container back full of dog food. The back up bag of sog food was used, but there should of been atleast half of the container I received back, but it was full!! So I wonder if they even ate the amount I instructed to feed. While on the way to the car I noticed our oldest dog is covered in pee which is unlike her. It was dried on her paws, on her ears, her back, and her tail was soaking. The younger dog was covered in urine on his paws. I offered them water and the little dog drank more than half of what she normally drinks! They were both dehydrated. I will not be taking them back there again due to the poor appearance coming home and not mentioning that they were covered and dried in urine. I would of been more considering if she gave me or warning or even if she attempted to clean them up. Not bad price, seems to be an okay facility, but wish my dogs were treated better.
