Our Post is named after Peter J. Courcy, a 2004 graduate of Frisco High School who was killed in combat in 2009, while serving in the US Army in Afghanistan. With the blessing of his family, we are privileged to name our Frisco American Legion post in his honor. Our new Post does not have a permanent Post building or clubroom, as we meet monthly at the Frisco Senior Center through the generosity of the Frisco City Council. We attribute this wonderful generosity to the great partnership and friendship developed with the Frisco Council prior to our initiation. We have a wide range of members from all branches of service. Our members service ranges from World War II to our youngest member, a 27 year old Marine who recently served in Afghanistan and Iraq. Additionally, two Frisco City Council Members are in our post. These are exciting times for Post 178 as we are continuing to grow in membership and develop additional programs to support the community. We are the fastest growing American Legion Post in the State of Texas. We welcome our veterans to join and help in supporting our community, and volunteer for several of our committees including Public Relations, Fund Raising, Membership, Color Guard/Honor Guard, Events, American Legion Baseball, and Flag Retirement Program. Once again welcome to the Peter J Courcy American Legion Post 178 in Frisco, Texas. We encourage you to join us during these exciting and rewarding times, and experience our Post first hand by becoming a member.
