Rug on Sale

Visited this place in Fremont as the farthest last resort rug shop my brother and I intended to visit. We had visited about 3 other shops around the east bay before we came here.



The first difficulty I had with this shop was that their website didn't specify the address. The website only mentioned, "located: Albrae Street and Stevenson BLVD. Fremont CA 94538". Boy, that really helps, not to mention the website is pathetic. It's not updated in the least. (FYI, here is their address: 6010 Stevenson Boulevard Fremont, CA 94538.)



They had a variety of rugs, large and small. Their prices varied. That's all the good I have to say about this place.



My brother and I finally found it while driving on Stevenson and walked in. There was no helpful welcoming from anyone. That was a bad sign already, but the large amount of rugs looked inviting to skim through. So we began looking at the rugs.



My brother had a question on rug measurements - that's when the man FINALLY came from his corner to "help" us. Once he gave us the info, we continued looking. Wherever we went, he followed us like a chick to a mother hen - almost as though he thought we were going to run off with a rug while his back was turned. Finally we found an interesting rug. We wanted to text a photo of it to confirm with our dad that this was the type of rug he wanted. We had decided that if my dad liked the rug, we would go ahead and purchase it.



As my brother took his phone out to get a snap-shot, immediately the man said (with his heavy accent), "No photos! Please, do not take picture." We told him our intent of taking the picture but he shook his head the whole time, and then accused us of taking a photo. My brother hadn't even time to position the phone, let alone take a picture. We told him we didn't take a photo, but he continued, "We have cameras here" (he pointed to the ceiling where, I guess, there were some hidden cameras), "We can see if you take picture or not. I saw you." We again told him we didn't take a photo, and invited him to look at the phone himself. At this point my brother was still holding his cell phone in his hand, then out of the blue, the guy started acting like a cop toward a criminal with a gun. He yelled, "Please, sir, just put the camera away, put it down, just please, sir, put it in your pocket now!" I couldn't believe it. We were out of there 2 minutes later.



This is called BAD SERVICE. I give this place a 2 star at best. There are other places with great friendly service, and also a large variety of rugs. I do not recommend Rug on Sale in Fremont.
