Upholstery Cleaning
Do you or your family snack and spill drinks on the good living room furniture? We can get your furniture back in shape again anyway. We're very thorough and get great results, even with some of the grubbiest furniture you can imagine. Our upholstery cleaning soaps leave no fumes or residues. Our leather furniture cleaner has a wonderful natural smell and moisturizes with natural oils.
Rug Cleaning
We had to get all the powder out, or the rug cleaning job would not be a success. If we just got the visible powder off the top, it would look ok that day, but not a few days later.
Tile and Grout Cleaning
Can you get your floor tile grout clean? We can. Most often, mop and detergent will not do a thing for your grout. We use special non-toxic cleaners that dissolves the crud off grout. We can also apply a non-toxic water based grout sealant (highly recommended) to make it harder for new spills to penetrate.
Vacuuming
Here's the trick. We knew when to stop vacuuming when the rate at which the powder filled the vacuum cleaner slowed drastically. The powder never stopped coming, but it did slow down suddenly and drastically. We monitored the rate at which our vacuum cleaner filled, and when it slowed down, we knew we had just about reached the end of the powder. That was at about the one hour mark.
Dusting
In your home, Green Homes Carpet Cleaning will vacuum all sides of the rug, pad, and floor. We also do a "dusting out" which simulates hanging the rug and beating it, although we have found that dusting out works even better. Then we shampoo with special rug soaps made for wool and/or delicate dies as appropriate. Our low-moisture rug shampoo uses NO STEAM, and only trace amounts of water. The result is a beautiful fresh rug with brightened colors that can be used later the same day.
Furniture Cleaning
There's no magic that can get the stains out of every sofa, but the chances are that if our furniture cleaning method doesn't get a particular stain out, the solvent methods will NOT do any better. Some fabrics, especially loosely woven fabrics and synthetic fabrics, give up their dirt right away. Older furniture, light colored cotton, and/or tighter fabric that has gone years without cleaning may have stains that are not removable. Before we start the full cleaning, we may do small test patches to preview how the furniture will come out. In any case, Green Homes Carpet Cleaning will spend a long time working on your furniture. Just one standard sofa plus cushions and pillows can take over two hours to clean. Larger pieces take more time, and smaller pieces take less time.
Steam Cleaning
The whole process takes about one hour for a single large living room. A large house can take up to five or six hours to clean in this manner. Yes, it takes a while. Green Homes Carpet Cleaning will NOT be in and out of your house in a flash. We work very hard to clean your rugs. You have to allow us enough time to do a thorough, painstaking job. Floor Cleaning
We have added wood floor cleaning by popular demand. Often when we clean a house full of carpets on a move-in, the owners will ask us if we can do anything about the wood floors that have been fouled up by the workmen or the movers. The answer is now YES. We'll spiff up the hardwoods to match your clean carpets. Our own home-made wood cleaner contains a mild detergent derived from coconut oil plus another edible oil that drys hard and adds a slight shine.
Green Cleaning
It works better, because you get the same clean without harmful chemicals. But this answer comes with a BIG exception. It depends on who performs your green cleaning and whether they have a good strategy. A quick one-pass job will not produce a good result. Every dark spot needs pretreatment with a green spot cleaner plus some manual effort. The technician needs to keep at it until whole the room is clean. All of the different professional cleaning methods work. To be successful, the person performing the job has to have some experience, have a good toolkit, and be motivated to work to a high standard.

We do upholstery cleaning using traditional warm or cool water extraction with non-toxic soaps. The process includes vacuuming, duct tape removal of pet hair (if necessary), pretreating for spots, and then detergent/water extraction. Cloth fabric protectors are available at your request. We have great a water-based (no petroleum or VOCs) protectant. In terms of being "green" this protectant is a huge improvement over the famous name "guard" protectant.
