Sun Camper Liquidators

We bought a 2015 Forest River travel trailer, picked it up several weeks later. When looking at it, my wife noted to salesman, Chad, that the air conditioner didn’t seem to be cooling. He said they would check it out before we completed the transaction. Later Chad reported that all the AC unit needed was to be charged up and that it was cooling fine. We picked it up and headed west. The AC still wasn’t cooling and then began cycling on and off. We headed back to Florida while trying to reach Chad leaving voice mails and texts. He did not return our messages so after four days and some hot weather we found a mobile tech in Tallahassee who is a Dometic dealer. He opened the inside housing and first off said Sun Campers must not have looked inside the unit as they said or they would have immediately seen that our unit wasn’t ducted properly. The intake air and output air were being mixed. After fixing this the readings were 74 degrees in to 64 out with 9.8 amps at the compressor. Ambient temp: 84. All well below factory specifications. And there is no such thing as “charging a Dometic air conditioner.” It is a closed system. Called Sun Campers again: the tech wanted to speak with them. Couldn’t get anyone other than the front office woman on the phone. The next day we finally received a call from Chad who put forth a completely different attitude becoming adversarial with my husband. Also we had Sun Campers install a Fantastic Fan but their tech failed to install the fuse and fuse cap that powers the fan. We called Chad about needing the part (we could install it ourselves) but we never heard another word from him on that issue either. So we have a nice new Fantastic Fan that my husband had to go to an auto parts store, buy parts to cobble together a temporary fix until we can order the parts. SP cared nothing about us having bought this very nice unit with a broken air conditioner. Two weeks of sweat and worry not to mention $1,100 to replace. Not worth it.
