I've never experienced care like what I receive from Dr. Vanger and Dr. Janakowski. I've been in pain for a decade, with every other Doctor telling me I was making it up, or that I was too young to be in such pain. I was one of those people that looked healthy, and put on a smile; but life was barely tolerable. Dr. Vanger was the first doctor to take my pain seriously and search for a cause. Within a few months of care he found terrible undiagnosed injuries to nerves and disks in my back, possibly from a decade old car accident. He immediately gave me options for alternative care and for the first time in my life, I'm beginning to feel relief. I owe my quality of life to their care. And my sanity. They spend time with me in my appointments and talk to me with concern, and respect. I, personally, don't mind the long wait, because I know first hand the dept of their care. I don't speak for anyone else, this is just my experience.

Overall
"pain doctors"= dependency

Always 2.5 - 5 hour wait. Seems most "patients in there could do cartwheels. They are creating dependency so patients they no longer like turn to illicit street drugs to avoid withdrawal. They don't seem to truly help anyone. The doctor I see, hasn't even read ALL my faxed in records. Has no clue that I have radiation poisoning from job related......or that my MRI report says I have Ankylosing Spondylitis.....or that I am going blind from Retinal Degeneration. That I've had facial reconstruction due to radiation destroying the bones in my face. He has NO clue. My EMG tests showed significant nerve/hyper damage. I was seeing a Neurp Surgeon/Pain Mgmt Dr where I came from......NEVER did I wait, like cattle....sardined into an overbooked waiting for so long. You pay.....but get NO help or caring. TriState is perpetuating the turn to heroin by it's patient base.....I've overheard several of them talking about it cuz these "doctors" get 'em hooked, then dump them. I am letting State DEA know what is going on in there. I've witnessed a patient selling her pills, after she had them filled. Which hurts those of us with a true need for pain relief. TriState is NOT where anyone with a real problem requiring pain help needs to go. Just being honest. In all my years......I've never seen so much drug abuse....in a single area, per capita. I guarantee, 70 percent of those patients don't require pain meds. When someone like me truly has several physical conditions my doctor hasn't even bothered with. The doctor attitudes are "well....they're just druggies"....when many of us are not. It humiliates me to have to take anything for this dibilitating bone burning.

Parking Spots are usually taken, waiting room is full. There are always a bunch of smokers right outside the entrance, and tons of cigarette butts all over the ground.

Tried to convince me to have a stimulator put in, I kept saying no, but they kept calling. Finally went to another pain management center.

so I went here to see Dr. Stev...

so I went here to see Dr. Stevens and had an 10AM appointment got there @ 945am and filled out the little paperwork. the parking was filled up. the waiting area was packed. they put me in a small waiting rm. I finally got seen and out the door around 12 noon,

Dr. Steven was a pleasure to meet and helped me with my pain medicine refills. I was surprised because he even knew my previous Doctor that past away. I enjoyed speaking with the doctor and he was very pleasant with my husband and myself.

If you are looking for a gentl...

If you are looking for a gentle, caring doctor who truly ares about you and your well being, keep looking. Benjamin Venger is only interested in money. If you are not heavily insured or have very deep pockets, he does not want you in his office. He will do nothing to help you.
