Fort Mill has outgrown their neighborhood post office. Hope for an update/expansion soon. The employees are doing their best but don't have much to work with. Nothing is automated, and it's not unusual to wait 20 minutes in line. Constantly get "delivery attempted" messages when delivery was not attempted. Then office is closed so can't get the package. If you want to revisit the 90s and feel grumpy, check it out ;) Otherwise, might want to go to Charlotte or Rock Hill.

I was at the post office in Fort Mill,Sc this morning and I must say, I don't think they could possibly be any slower. There was about 6-8 people in line, and one, really slow person at the counter. When I finally got up to the front, they had to get a supervisor to help me. After having the supervisor paged twice and one of the other people at the front going back there to get her, a supervisor finally shows up (oh and I might add I had been waiting for her to get up there for about 15-20 minutes). I can see why the USPS is going out of business.

Get a PO box! I may or may not receive my mail, and it sometimes takes days for it to be picked up. I do, however, regularly receive mail belonging to neighbors with addresses similar to mine. I have called several times to address the issue, only to be told by the supervisor in Fort Mill that they are not obligated to pick up my mail, that is purely at the discretion of the driver. Really?! Yes ma'am, if they "feel like" stopping when they see your flag up, then they do. If not, oh well! As for delivery, you have to prove their negligence, which is hard to do, since the power company doesn't inform you that they received your bill back marked "undeliverable". My elderly mother in law thought I was mad at her once because a birthday card she sent to me was returned to her. That would have been proof of this post office's negligence, but before I knew it happened, she had tossed it out, and sat there with hurt feelings for a week until I called her to see why I hadn't heard from her.

My mail has NOT been delivered in 4 days. Spoke to "Tony", my new mail carrier of 2 months, at Post Office on Tom Hall St. today 5/12/14 at approx. 4;50 pm. Tony stated someone came into post office and filled out a required form stating that "my Name and address # NO LONGER LIVED AT THIS ADDRESS AND HAD NO FORWARDING ADDRESS. I requested to see such alleged form, Tony went in the back and 10 min later came out saying, " I can't find the paper but I assure you that you'll start receiving your mail tomorrow." I told him that I didn't buy that excuse!! I told him that they had to have a system in place to keep tract of these forms considering the legal implication. Tony twice more came up with some different reasons. He said that he couldn't find the form now but would look in the following morning. I insisted for the third time that he has to produce to me a copy of this "FORM" that he admits to receiving that states to " return all of my mail to sender since I no longer lived at this address." I would NOT budge!! Tony leaned over the counter, and said with a very low voice, " well, let me tell you that isn't true." I asked him why he LIED TO ME. " I shouldn't have lied. What really happened is that someone accidently received my mail in there box, and wrote on the piece of mail, THAT WAS NOT FIRST CLASS MAIL( he emphasized this 3 times),and said that I (my name) no longer lived at this address. " Tony then admits, " since the piece of mail was NOT FIRST CLASS, I took it upon myself to have all of your mail arranged to "RETURN TO SENDER - NO RETURN ADDRESS KNOWN," Tony then admits TO THROWING THE MAIL OUT. Please help me file this complaint to the USPS Administrative Office as Fort Mill does NOT have a POSTMASTER. thanks PLEASE HELP ME !!!!!
