I brought in my car to have a broken tail lamp fixed. I made a point to tell them that I wanted a quote before they ordered parts or fixed anything.



The original quote was $30 - $40 with a pickup up time on Wednesday.



When I called on Wednesday to make sure it was ready they told me the part wasn't in and to call back Thursday. I called back Thursday and they told me my car was now ready. When I arrived they said it would be another 15 minutes before it was done.



My bill totaled $319.77. When asked why the price had inflated so much they pointed out the $211.85 charge for the tail lamp assembly, their reasoning behind why the price jumped so much was that the original part must not have been available so they had to buy it from a dealership and that I should have been called and informed of the price change.



Being uncomfortable with cursing and carrying on like an insufferable person I grudgingly paid my inflated bill and left.



Despite being less than a mile away from my house I will not be returning, this was a prime example of not only poor customer service but lack of understanding and respect for a customer's budget and time.

My dad was getting out of hospital, so I went to get the car and I had a flat on it, I put the spare donut on but was scared to drive over the 100 miles home, so I called Gateway on Lakeland drive right at quitting time , they said to bring it on, those guys stayed after closing just to fix my tire, and didn't charge me a penny !! I hope I get to return the favor some day , Great service, will be back, and I wish I could give them a 100 stars !! God Bless you guys ..
