Poodle Dog Restaurant

i loved the poodle dog restaurant! My experiences there have been many, memorable, favorable, and most importantly, will continue for many years to come. This is a long standing land mark located in the very heart of Fife. The Poodle Dog has been a stopping off point for travelers along the I-5 for over 75 years! The tall neon 'poodle dog' sign towers high enough to see for miles. I have been fortunate enough to meet some of the old timers, a small group of elderly gentlemen whom occupy the seats at the 'counter' most every afteroon for coffee and conversation. They have been meeting there for more years than anyone can remember.

The building houses a good sized restaurant with an 'overflow' room attatched (for a more private or group visit), a coffee counter, 2 meeting rooms wich seat 20-40 people each, and of course theres the 'Ball Room' -capacity ....150? 200 people?..perfect for private gatherings like receptions or reunions...i mean, food and cocktails provided in your own private BALL ROOM without having to spend your life savings is hard to find! Beleive me folks, Poodle Dog Ball Room is the way to go!

Also, theres The Pup Room Lounge.......where you just might be lucky enough to find Cathy mixin' up the cocktails, with upwards of 20 years behind this bar , Cathy is shear genious with a swizzle! Cant talk Poodle Dog without mentioning Miss Jane the baker. Whos been happily creating homemade delights here since before the kids had gandkids and her yummy creations never fail to please.

And while the desserts and cocktails are being expertly perfected behind the lines, a really great visit is a sure thing when Claudias at your table side. Another of the Dogs Long-Timers, this good ol' gal might give you a chuckle or even a light hearted scolding if she really likes ya! There really is a whole bunch of good, motivated folks working hard to make it a great place to enjoy.

The original owners went well into there retirement years before handing over the reigns. Mr.Tim Tweeten took on the challenge and was the man at the helm when the Dog celebrated its 75th anniversery recently, and even in transitioning and sprucing up he allowed the old girl to remain much as she has always been for so many years, holding true to the idea that progress doesnt always mean change, the integrity and history of a small towns pride and joy was preserved. He simply gave her some sprucing up and escorted her into the twentieth century with her dignity intact......BRAVO Mr. Tweeten, bravo!!!
