I also am a current renter of Scott's he has always been very helpful in any situation that comes up with my property. I have never had any problems with him being dishonest. He works with people the best that be can. I do not know what the other people Re referring to but I would recommend Scott Barton to any one looking for a nice place to rent or wonderful management of your rental property.. Scott would be the one to call. Rebecca lake

Overall

In the four years that Scott Barton was our rental agent; I found him to be honest, straight forward and dependable. Anytime there was a problem that needed to be taken care of; Scott would go to bat with the land owner. I've read some of those negative reviews about his business and I find them totally without merit.

If in the future, I was seeking a rental in NW Arkansas Scott would be my first call.

Owner

I am Scott Barton! This site has been brought to my attention by a potential customer and I am appalled at lies allowed to be published here! The first two reviews are obviously written by liars and horrible excuses for people! I stand on the same ground I opened my business 25 years ago ready to meet either of you on in person or through legal counsel. You are probably the same person with no self respect. You posted blatant lies about me and I have no idea who you are but I am sure you are a sad little person with no self respect! I am still here and will be waiting for you to come out of your lying shadows!

Great landlord

Scott Barton was a wonderful man to work with. He took great care of all our families needs and was so professional to do business with.

We would recomend him to anyone that owns property and needs managent or anyone looking for great accomodations for a place to live.

We have read the other reviews and they both sound like people that were asking him to do something unethical or against real estate law and we believe they were being selfish in the requests only thinking of themselves. He must operate within the laws that govern him and we feel he does and would be a wonderful choice to do business with as a renter or landlord. We would highly recomend him an his company!

Don't Work With Scott Barton

Scott Barton is a not a good landlord. He has no compassion or care for his tenants, and only is out for a quick buck in my opinion. My old roommate had left without notice in addition to taking my half of the rent. Scott notified me(by coming to my place of employment) that I would have 3 days to come up with $1000. I was able to do that waiting tables. He took the money, then told me(again, by coming to my work) I needed the next months rent in the next 3 days also or he was evicting me. I complied again ($2000/6days). Then I went on vacation, came back on the 1st of the following month, and found my locks changed...He also subsequently sued me for "damages" that were already in the house. He is not very nice and is a terrible landlord. Never saw him fix anything, despite notifying him of problems in the house. I regret ever renting from him.

He could improve his business by not acting so greedily towards his renters.

DO NOT WORK WITH SCOTT BARTON

Do not ever work with Scott Barton. He is not a man of his word. When we signed our lease, he told us that if things change and new circumstances arise, then let him know with ample time so that he can get the property on the market and have new tenants without ever having to miss a payment. Well, my ffiance and I got engaged in January and we are looking to buy a house. I emailed Scott in early Feb to let him know that we were looking and we would keep him updated if we came across a house and were to buy it. Well, here comes March and now we get a new landlord/property manager (this is the 4th person we have dealt with since July 2009). I called to speak to him because we have a house that we are wanting to make an offer on and told him the same situation. He said that since it was only a verbal agreement he would have to contact Scott and work out the details. Well, it's been about a week now, and the house we are wanting to purchase has lots of activity, and we need an answer. The new landlord has not been answering my calls or returning them. I called Scott today and he basically told me that he never said that and I was making it up. He then went on to say that the way he works is it anything changes and you get married, pregnant, etc, let me know so that we can work to get new people in your place as soon as you are out without missing a lick. THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT HE SAID TO MY FIANCE AND I WHEN WE SIGNED THE LEASE. But now, I guess since the property was taken from him by the new landlord, he is trying to make himself look better. I even emailed him in early Feb before the property was even taken over!! Now why would I want to all of the sudden get out of a lease just because the property was taken over??? I mean, seriously, we paid our rent every month, on time. We got engaged in Jan, started looking for homes in February, emailed Scott in feb, found out that we have a new landlord in March. My father had rental properties up until a couple of years ago when they retired, moved and sold them. I know how these dealings are and I would not take advantage of the situation. We just want to buy a house and get the tax credit and start our life together. I do not recommend SCOTT BARTON. HE IS NOT A MAN OF HIS WORD AND WILL ACCURSE YOU OF LYING. HE IS NOT HELPFUL, BUT HARMFUL. DO NOT DO YOUR BUSINESS WITH THIS MAN.
