GOOD PRODUCT- SORRY INSTALL

The salesman was great and the price was nice, but that's where "nice" stopped. The installation crew was a joke and the installation process was a nightmare. A four day installation of prefinished engineered hardwood turned into a week. Each day, a different crew would show up and each crew would not have enough product to finish what they set out to complete for each day. Instead of removing the old glue or adhesive from the concrete slab with a solvent, the installation crew used coarse sandpaper, sanding the bare concrete slab, and stirred up A LOT of dust. I had to have my smoke detectors replaced by my alarm company, as the detectors kept going off for days after the installation crew left due to the amount of dust built up within the smoke detectors chambers. I had to repaint one room and had to wipe down all of the interior walls in the other rooms. I now have dust in places that I never knew dust could go. To make matters worse, the crew used a dilapidated shop vac to vacuum up the dust but the shop vac threw out about as much dust as it took in. The saws that the crews used were in terrible shape also, with light duty extension cords dangerously tape spliced to what was left of the main power cords on each saw. I was waiting for my circuit breakers to trip with each cut that was made. The saw blades that these guys used had apparently not been changed out or sharpened in quite some time as each piece of wood was actually burned thru rather than cut thru. Lots of smoke and blackened wood. I've found lots of glue or adhesive spots on the new flooring after the crews finished and have had to do A LOT of extra clean up myself and I'm still not done. I've also discovered gaps between some of the flooring leaving the unfinished wood below visible from above. Some of the transition molding between the hardwood and tile is bowed up leaving gaps between the molding and floor. Why don't I have these guys come back and take care of the mess that they left? BECAUSE I DO NOT WANT THESE PEOPLE BACK IN MY HOUSE EVER AGAIN!!!!!! THEY ARE NOT PROFESSIONALS! I would venture a guess that the leaders/owners of SFO are either completely out of touch or unaware of the caliber of the installation crews working for SFO in the Dallas area or the leaders/owners just don't care. While gazing at that new flooring sample and envisioning how good it might look on your floor, I would suggest that you also try to envision the installation nightmare. If you are a "do-it-yourselfer" or the slightest bit of a handy-person, you might want to consider doing this job yourself. It might take a bit longer but it couldn't be any worse of a job than these guys did. I've found many negative reviews for SFO online AFTER my experience with them and wish now that I would have done my homework before signing that dotted line.

Service is horrible

This could be a very long story... Trying to make a long story short, my laminate flooring supposively was recalled, I had my floor all cleared and furniture moved... no one called or showed up on date of install. I finally got a hold of sales man and he told me what happened after he found out. I was upset because I was ready for install that day (my bedroom was empty). He came with two other floor coverings and I felt pinched to make a choice. I made it and they were putting the flooring in on Monday instead of Saturday because it got to late. I had no idea the laminate wouldn't but up to each piece (spacing between each piece) and they didn't have any t molding to do the entries that matched. I got them out again with the t molding after they missed one appt. set up and on the second they didn't have the right one either... My next move will be the BBB. Marilyn
