Dental Care
The vast majority of cats and dogs over age five do have some dental disease. The good news is that regular, preventive dental care for your pet can stop dental issues and pain before it starts.

We often think of vaccinations as something for young kittens and puppies, but vaccinations are important at all stages of a pet’s life. Yearly check-ups are just as important for your pet as they are for you! Comprehensive nose-to-tail annual exams for all of your pets are vital. At the exam, we will also make sure all vaccines and preventives are up to date.

As part of your pet’s yearly exam, we may recommend a routine diagnostic work-up to check for a range of possible issues. Dr. Ann Rankin is the owner of Rankin Animal Clinic. She is a 1997 graduate of Auburn University with her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. She is passionate about client experience and getting to know her clientele and patients on a personal level. She provides exceptional geriatric healthcare, dentistry, and general surgery. You may see Dr. Ann around town enjoying yummy food, boating on the river, and taking her dogs on a walk.

Prior to surgery, we will review the procedure with you, go over the expected procedure and present you with all of the options to make the best decisions for you and your pet. To prepare for elective surgeries we also go the extra step of requiring pre-anesthesia blood work. This allows us to have a full understanding of your pet’s condition before surgery begins.
