Deep Tissue Massage
For me, this day would definitely involve a deep tissue massage, which I find immensely therapeutic and relaxing since I tend to have tense muscles a lot from having a desk job during the week.

Lemon juice - This can be used to lighten blonde hair when combined with a session of sitting in the sun – which I’m sure you won’t be moaning about! As with the other tips, this one is very simple: rinse hair with lemon juice and sit in the sun for a while. The longer you leave it in the sun, the lighter your hair will get, but make sure you don’t get a burnt scalp – a red, flaky scalp is not attractive and very painful too. Generally, to maintain the colour you should repeat this process every 2/3 weeks. Gina recommends mixing two parts water with one part conditioner and one part fresh lemon juice. She says: “I used to always use lemon juice in the summer to give me highlights and it worked great. I took the liquid to the beach in a spray bottle and misted my hair with it. This concoction not only conditioned my hair in the sun, but gave me beautiful highlights that were just a shade lighter than my natural hair colour.”

Dimensional Color
For the spring I feel color will still be strong but shift to more dimensional coloring. Not stripey, but subtle paneling of color to give shimmer and dimension. Krissy takes the cake though with interesting conversation when she told this story, “Oh no – well, one woman whom I did her manicures regularly first started coming in to see me very insecure, overweight and with a troubled marriage. Then she started losing weight, looking great, and her marriage became so good she started sharing every (gross) detail with me about her sex life. THEN began to tell me about what she did at work that day - she was a hairstylist in a salon up the road and also did waxing. She and her co-worker decided to do each other’s bikini waxes, and then began to tell me how the wax developed into an ‘experience’. I became very uncomfortable and switched the topic. THEN before she left - invited me to come to her home… as a present for her husband!!!!

6. Go for dew not glow on face and cheeks: So, we talked about not using mattes. Well on the other end of the spectrum, there are brands of mineral foundation that are quite shiny. I find that this accentuates lines and blemishes. Instead, a product with a nice dewey effect is ideal for bringing a youthful appearance to the face. We’ll get into application in the next section, but for now, to choose a mineral foundation that is not glowy, just look for vendors’ descriptions of the texture of their foundations. Try samples first, and make sure to order the proper brush, since this is imperative for mineral makeup application to look natural.

When I first started selling and making mineral makeup, I, like many first-time mineral make up users, refused to wear shimmery makeup on my eyes. Occasionally, I would apply some shimmer to my shoulders or décolleté, but never on the face. Then one day, I finally took the plunge, and allowed a makeup artist working at my kiosk here in Baltimore to ‘do’ my eyes. She was young-ish, so naturally reached for some pretty sparkly powders that I assumed were only appropriate for the 30 an under crowd. Well, boy was I wrong!
