Dental Care
ARK Veterinary Services, Inc. is a well-established, full-service, small animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical, dental care, chiropractic manipulation and Traditional Chinese Veterinarian Medicine (TCVM). Acupuncture, animal chiropractic, and rehabilitation is integral to patient care for recovery and for healing. We offer these services in addition and with regular patient care.
Vaccination
For the safety of all animals in our care, we require that all vaccinations be up to date. Even though we make every effort to make our patients feel comfortable during visits, they may be a little uneasy about new people, new surroundings and other pets. This is one of the reasons we ask you to restrain your pet when you enter the waiting room before and after appointments.
Behavioral Counseling
We can provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression. Great information is also available through The Dumb Friends League. Choose from the services they offer and select behavior help, look for the handouts.
Nutritional Counseling
We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance. A proper diet is the basis of any good health plan for healthy living and your pet is no different!

We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of prescription diets.

Arthritis Treatment
Tui-na, also called An-mo, is Chinese manual therapy used for preventing and treating disease. Tui-na practitioners use various manipulations applied to acupuncture points and meridians; or apply special limb-stretching movements to prevent and treat diseases. Tui-na or An-mo can regulate meridians, soothe joints and sinews, promote circulation of Qi and Blood, balance Zang-Fu organs and strengthen the body's resistance.These techniques of manual therapy have been successfully used for treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, Bi syndrome and osteoarthritis, disc problems, peripheral nerve paralysis, Wei syndrome (wasting and general weakness) and internal diseases. Both geriatric and pediatric patients are perfect candidates for Tui-na therapy.
Hip Dysplasia Treatment
Dr.Garrett uses sterile stainless steel needles when she performs acupuncture. She uses them to tonify, sedate or otherwise manipulate the energy of the body. To elongate the effects of acupuncture, a couple of other methods are also used. These include electroacupuncture, aquapuncture (using Vitamin B-12, lidocaine, normal saline and/or homeopathic remedies), Moxa sticks used to warm acupuncture points when needles are in the points, acupressure, and finally surgically implantation of gold beads or wire into acupuncture points. This is an excellent choice for long-term problems such as hip dysplasia or arthritis.

Dental Surgery
Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, charting, X-rays, tooth extractions and minor oral surgery. Some staff has received additional training from the University of Ohio Dental Seminar.

It is our commitment to provide quality veterinary care throughout the life of your companion animal. Our services and clinic are designed to assist in routine preventive care for pets of all ages; early detection and treatment of disease as your companion animal ages; and complete medical and surgical care as necessary during his or her lifetime.

Laboratory Services
Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.

We provide cat and small dog boarding as a service to our clients. All boarders receive personal attention from our caring staff. Pets may be dropped off and picked up during regular business hours Monday through Friday. Sorry, no weekend hours.
