Overall
Poor initial job redone by company

I own a multi-unit property in the Eugene area and had Home Insulation Co. insulate the walls. To do this, holes are drilled into the walls, the walls are filled with fiberglass insulation, and the holes are then plugged. To ensure that each wall cavity is completely filled , a hole is typically drilled high, mid-center and low in the wall. Alternatively, the installer may use a measuring tape to check for any obstructions in the wall cavity. There's a certain conflict of interest. You pay the company a certain amount per square foot and the company then pays its installers an amount per square foot. A well done job takes longer than a sloppy job. Several months after the job was done, I installed an air conditioner for one of the tenants through an exterior wall. To my surprise the wall cavity was empty. The cavity was drilled and plugged but not filled with insulation. Removal of several other plugs revealed that many other wall cavities were likewise never filled or partially filled.

I contacted Jerry, the owner of the company, and he sent another technician out to evaluate the job. He agreed that the first crew didn't insulate the walls properly.

To there credit, Home insulation immediately spent 3 days checking each wall cavity and re-insulated the entire complex. I think the owner of the company is an honest individual that wants his company to do quality work, but that he had a rouge crew doing fraudulent installation. Since this incident came to light the initial installers were let go.

I would use this company in the future based upon their immediate repair of the initial work and genuine concern that good work is performed.
