Gilley's Heating & Air

I've been working in new and remodeling industry for close to 20 years in the SE Alabama& NW Florida region. I've worked with,around,and for Gilley's for all my years and have never known of them to be friendly, out of their way to be helpful, professional yet making you feel like a personal friend. Granted, sometimes a bad hire can be made and if/when this may have occurred, Mr.Marlin or Mr. Marty,owners have gone above and beyond to correct and ensure satisfaction as well as terminate the unqualified employee. To note the obvious, why take the word of a person not qualified in the field of said issue?

This company installed a compressor for us in May 2006. We paid $1785 for the new compressor. In March 2010 the outside AC unit stopped working. They came out, billed me $300 for parts and labor (the compressor was still under warranty) and told me the compressor was blown again. When I asked why, I was told it was probably struck by lightning. Eleven days later, same problem. I had an electrician installing a whole house surge protector at the time, and he looked at the AC unit for me. The wires in the disconnect box were completely burned, and appeared to have been burning for quite some time. The unit was not wired properly. When I contacted Gilleys, I was told my electrician was lying to me about the wiring, and then was told that they didn't check the disconnect box. They only replaced the compressor because it wasn't working. He started telling me several other things involving repairs and wiring, none of which I understand as I am not an electrician or AC repairman. I informed him I wanted a copy of my warranty. He stated it was given to me when the repairs were done, which it was not. i informed him of this and was told the unit wasn't even made anymore so there was no warranty. Then I was told that if I wanted it to look it up online and print it out. He then hung up on me. Very unprofessional and rather than apologizing or attempting to correct the issue, he preferred to try to use technical jargon to confuse me and avoid giving me the warranty. I do not recommend this company to anyone needed an honest repair company.
