I have now purchased Granite counter tops and carpet from this location and there customers service is always awesome and I always find what I am looking for. There installers are very courteous and clean up very well when they are done.

Never Again

I'm writing this review because to this day I am still disgusted with Carpet Exchange over our experience with them.
We bought Armstrong laminate floor at this location in late 2006. Our experience buying the product was great - it just so happened that the district manager was in the store at the time and he completely sold us on the product. However, from there things went downhill. We only received half of the shipment, the other half was being shipped in from another location. We chose to install it ourselves, having built our home ourselves we weren't concerned with this small job.
When my husband went to pick up the first load (at another store at Quebec & County Line) he was asked who was installing the floor. He told them we were doing the installation ourselves and from that point on their attitute shifted to being very unhelpful. He asked them if the flooring needed to "acclimate" before being installed and they said "No, it's laminate". We installed the first half of the flooring in December of 2006 - all was well. The second half of the flooring came in and we learned at that time it was coming from Kansas City. We continued on with the second half of the flooring and all looked great. We were very happy with it until about a month later. The ends of the laminate started to shrink. This primarily happened with the pieces that we'd received during the second shipment. We contacted Carpet Exchange and asked about our warranty to cover this. They told us that since "we" installed it there was nothing we could do about it. We've inquired with several flooring installers since and learned that laminate flooring DOES need to acclimate - especially if it comes from a humid climate (Kansas City). So, the whole problem was that the flooring shrank from going from a wet/humid climate to a dry climate. We lost the business card from the district manager or we would have contacted him. We contacted the corporate numbers listed and got the same answer regarding the problem. We are now taking out the laminate and putting in tile - we tried filling in with putty they sell and it looks terrible. We will never recommend Carpet Exhange - once they had their money and found out we weren't paying them to install it, they wanted nothing more to do with us.
