Based on my 1 experience and the wealth of neg reviews I have read since, I would AVOID Steinocher! They were sent out from our Home Wrnty Co. 1st, they DID NOT call within the time indicated by Old Republic's info. When they did call, the appointment was set for almost a week out. I was flabbergasted that I was going to have to wait THAT LONG with no AC with temps in the 100s! When they technician came, he diagnosed a freon leak at the valve, recharged the system, collected the fee and left. The AC was cooling at the time that the tech left. The next day, there was NO difference in the air temp inside the house. I called first thing in the morning and was informed by the lady that answered the phone ... that since the AC was working when he left, it would require another call to the home warranty company and that it would be ANOTHER week ... on a recall!! I called the Home Warranty Co and requested another vendor... who BTW came THAT DAY and found that the leak was NOT FIXED!

Diagnosed our AC problem as a "busted touch screen". The thermostat doesn't have a touch screen, so obviously it wouldn't work as such. This caused problems in getting our warranty company to cover a legitimate repair because an inaccurate report was submitted. Employees are not professional or courteous.

THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST UNETHICAL COMPANIES I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH IN MY 50 YEARS EXPERIENCE. WALK AWAY FROM THEM IF YOU CAN!

My Case:

Appliance covered by warranty company was dispatched for repair by Steinocher. Technician by name of Kenny for Steinocher stated unit was inspected but recommended to warranty company to not repair due to 'infestation of bugs'. I spoke to Kenny about the situation and suggested he might have mixed up paperwork with another house. A second warranty service call (months later) was made to revisit the same appliance for the same problem (at insistence of tenants who only have two burners on stove), and this time I went there personally to meet both Jason & Jr on site. Their diagnostic was that two heating elements were out and glasstop is cracked. Upon calling office the same day to find out when it would be repaired, Kenny from Steinocher insisted that he would file the same report as the first, 'bug infestation', with recommendation not to repair, which is what he said he would do even before they came to see the problem. He also said they took photos of the infestation. However, I was there, there was not one single bug present, much less infestation, no photos were taken, and further, the written report by the technicians made absolutely no reference to any bugs. I concluded and informed Kenny that he is deliberately and knowingly submitting a false report. He rudely and inappropriately told me I was drunk at 8 o'clock in the morning. We ended the conversation and I subsequently called the warranty company to complain about Steinocher, for which they concluded there are inconsistencies between the first report and the second report submitted by Steinocher. The warranty company agreed to dispatch a different company to address the discrepancies.



In all my years of experience I have never seen anything like this company and falsifying reports. It borders on, if not is, criminal activity.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! My A/C went out April 9th. Contacted the insurance company. Steinocher showed up 5 days later to check the unit. They said that it was the blower motor an they would have to order one. About 2 weeks later they finally showed up to put it in. Then they said that the motor would not fit in the cage and they would have to take the cage out and take it back to their shop to fix it. 2 weeks later they showed up to install it. After they installed the motor it was making a noise. They said that it would be ok. The next morning the A/C unit sounded like an old car about to throw a rod in the engine. Called them back. 2 days later they came back and said that we needed a new unit. On June 11th they FINALLY SHOWED up and installed the new unit. The workers had grease on their shoes and ground grease into the carpet, and the unit was leaking water. Stopped the guys before they left and told them that the unit was dripping water. 1 of them came back in an said that the condensation line was stopped up. He blew the line out and then glued the cap back on. Got home from work late to a flooded hallway and bathroom. I took the vent cover off and noticed that the drain line was bent at a 45 degree angle the line was also bent at a 45 degree angle un next to the unit. Contacted Steinocher back the next morning. The man said that his guys did not kink the line that and they are only paid to install the unit, NOT STRAIGHTED the drain line. The lines was not bent before they started. So after 2 months with no A/C I still have no A/C. They also said that the carpet was nasty before they got there. This is not true as it is new carpet and vacuumed on daily basis. THIS PLACE IS A JOKE!!!! The only reason that they are getting a one star rating is because I cant go any lower.

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE! Fidelity homeowner insurance sent them to my house to fix ac. The field tech was at my house less than 15 minutes and said compressor was bad and would need to get approval. It took them four days to return to my house and less than 40 minutes to install compressor. The next day ac continued to be less cool. Had to call Fidelity back to send a new company out. Fidelity was going to make Steinocher come back to my residence but I said no because of the profanity that I received from them over the phone asking them to come back and check unit out. BTW, I had a new service order from Fidelity.

Part 1. I was flat out lied to...

I was flat out lied to by this company's dispatcher. She just so happens to be the owner of the company as well.Our case was our central a/c went out on a Fri at 7pm. We have American Home Shield so I called them,& they placed my case as an emergency because I have a kid & it is July and I live in Texas, on Saturday they were able to get a Monday appt scheduled with Steinocher at the soonest. Mon morning came and went with no show, so I called AHS again at 1030 am(Mon). They spoke with Mechelle(owner)personally & was told that the guy is in my area but got caught up on a job and that my home would be serviced by 2 that day. Well 6 hrs later I called Steinocher directly and spoke with who I think was the owner. Mind you she never before spoke to ME on the phone but to AHS & I was told again that the repairman was caught up on another job and that he would make it out to my home that day. When I mentioned to her that I was informed on that 6 hours ago and that he didn't show up at 2pm I swear her exact words were, I don't remember giving a time. She didn't know I was on the other line with them when they called her & she gave that time, & why would AHS lie when federal bureaucracy prevents them from falsifying records.(Everything including the time of 2pm was documented on their notes) I didn't argue with her instead I just accepted the fact that getting the a/c fixed was going to take alittle longer than I expected. Well 4 hours later still no show(Steinocher closed), so I called American Home Shield again. Needless to say between all of their notes & my statement, Steinocher has a mark against them with AHS & we just scheduled with someone else. That should have been the end of it but its not. The NEXT day(Tues no a/c) I bought a window a/c unit & not long after I purchased it(1130 am exactly) Steinocher's repair guy called and apologized for yesterday's mix up but that he wasn't even in my area yesterday, but that he was heading to my house right now. This compay is located in waco so thats over an hour away from my home. I told him his dispatcher lied to me (all day long) and that I'm not comfortable having his company come to my home. I literally would rather my family & I sit through the heat for another day than have dishonest unreliable service. In fact I decided to go with Kane services BECAUSE they were honest enough to say they couldn't make it to my home the day I called but will be out the next day. I'm not saying Steinocher can't fix things, & I can understand a company not wanting to turn money away. But I take medication & can't be in heat or sun for extended periods of time and it is really hard to swallow that my family went 2 extra days without a/c because of this company's dishonest behavior. As a customer who so happens to have customer service skills, the worst thing you can do to an emergency in any situation is put them off another day and lie about it. Even thes just some colossal misunderstanding between myself, the owner, &ahswhy did they wait until 1130 the day after the appt time to come out on an EMERGENCY CASE?? (Not to mention it would have taken him at least another 25 to 30 mins to make it here)

The funniest part of it all is that he was in Copperas Cove when he called which meant that he had to have passed Killeen in order to get there. I was not an emergency to this company in the least even though they would have had a for sure payment to boot. I believe that when people lie about the little things...I wouldn't trust Steinocher to watch my dog let alone let them in my home to "fix" whats broken. I seriously felt like they are one of those type of repair companies that never "fix" your problem so they can keep making money off you. I have no proof of their workmanship mind you, just their shoddy customer service.
