X-rays

Teeth Cleaning
When a routine dental cleaning is performed, the clinician is removing plaque and debris on the tooth structure above the gumline. Patient's with periodontal involvement, pocket depths of 4mm and greater, need periodontal maintenance following periodontal therapy to thoroughly clean those deeper pockets as well as the tooth structure above the gumline. Site specific scaling and root planing, where indicated, and polishing are part of the periodontal maintenance.

Crowns
There are two primary reasons for crown lengthening procedures either for cosmetics or for supporting a final restoration. Both processes are relatively the same where gumline tissue is sculpted and bone levels modified. Crown lengthening is completed in the office using local anesthetic. Patients are comfortable during the entire procedure and experience little discomfort in the days following. After an adequate healing period of approximately six weeks, your dentist can complete the restoration. Whether it's for function or cosmetics, you will benefit from a healthier, more confident smile.

Following periodontal scaling and root planing, your pocket depths will be reevaluated to determine whether surgery is necessary. If surgery is not indicated, a regimen for your periodontal maintenance will be determined. Deep pockets that persist are best treated with pocket reduction surgery. The surgical procedure will be explained to you based on your individual needs. Reducing pocket depths and recontouring of the soft and hard tissues will enable better homecare and control the disease process for better long-term results. After surgery, regular periodontal maintenance with the dental hygienist will still be necessary to maintain the health of your mouth.
Deep Cleaning

Dentures
Dental implants, a majority of the time, are the most predictable and desirable option to replace a single tooth or multiple teeth. They provide individuals with restored function and a long-term, esthetically pleasing result and with more comfort than alternative options. Before implants were available, patients chose bridges, partial dentures, and full dentures for replacement of missing teeth. If interested in dental implants, a referral is not necessary. During pocket reduction procedures, a periodontist will surgically access the most advanced areas of periodontal (gum) disease. The disease causing bacteria and debris will be removed. In some cases, bone can be severely destroyed causing defects. When this occurs, the periodontist may be able to use regenerative materials to reverse some of the negative effects. This can be accomplished by bone grafting which encourages the body to regenerate bone and tissue.

Orthodontics
Tooth exposure is completed when a tooth fails to erupt on its own and remains impacted. Without proper eruption, the impacted tooth can interfere with tooth movement and is subject to disease. Surgical exposure gains access to the tooth and allows for placement of an orthodontic bracket to facilitate eruption. Our office works in conjunction with your orthodontist during this process. Depending on the complexity and individual anatomy of the patient, a 3D image/scan may be required to pinpoint the exact location of the impacted tooth. This provides patients with the most predictable and safest outcome. The procedure is completed with local anesthetic and the patient is kept comfortable the entire appointment. Healing time and recovery is usually with little discomfort.
