Dundee Veterinary Clinic

I am honestly shocked that the one review on this site was so negative especially since it is literally the polar opposite of the ratings presented in a google search. I am not one to go out of my way to review a business but I felt the impression left by the only review here was inaccurate.

I was recommended this vet by a family member and being from ann arbor, i certainly have closer choices. Whenever we have concerns the doc gives us an anecdote to put things in perspective, the techs clearly remember our dogs and give them a great deal of comfort when they are scared of shots.

But what really solidified the experience was our older shihpoo landed poorly on her hind leg when excited for a new toy letting out the most horrifying yelp, that evening we were forced to take her to a pet ER, where the vet on duty tried telling us she had a luxating patella and we should get her surgery within the week. The following day we called our vet and he told us to wait and got us in ASAP. After his exam, along with her history, he felt that the ER vet misdiagnosed her. Gave her pain relievers, anti inflamatories, supplements and mandated that she take it easy for the next few weeks. Turned out he was completely right. Saving us tons of money, anxiety, and an unnecessary surgery.

I understand the protectiveness dog owners have over their little ones, i have it to. And while they might have had a personality clash, their is no substitute for experience.

I first went to this vet with my first shih-tzu . Did not like his bed side manner and just lack of compassion. The dog had to be put down. I got another shih tzu and thought I would give him another chance and try to ignore his personality. Long story short people he and his tech are discussing animals and just being rude about their owners within ear shot of other patients. I thought this was very un businesses like but tried to ignore it until they did it to me. My dog takes seizure medicine and thyroid and I asked for the meds to be sent to a pharmacy months ago. He didn't want to do the paper work. My dog had all the blood work and tests for the year so she could get her medicines. Since I told him I would never be back because of their actions he is refusing to send the scripts to the pharmacy. I would not recommend this clinic to care for any domesticated animals.
