American Trim & Glass

American Trim and Glass was highly recommended by a trusted source for the repair of torn leather seats. The craftsmanship and materials used exceeded my expectations. I've recently return with another vehicle to have the headliner replaired and, again, the work was top notch.

On July 19th, 2007 I met Roy (Owner) at 11:45 am to get an estimate, he came out looked at my Mercedes and said that he can repair the hole in the driver���s seat for $250 and would also replace the foam in the seat. I asked him if it would be cheaper if he just added some foam instead of replacing. He said no������the right way would be to replace it. He said that he would order the leather from Mercedes and that it would match exactly. So I told him that I wanted to think it over and would let him know. So later that day I called to set up a time, no answer, I left message but got no return call. The next day I got lucky and Roy picked up the phone and I made an appointment for July 25, 8:00 am.



On July 24th I decide to stop by to confirm my appointment and also make sure the leather had come in and wanted to make sure it matched okay. Roy was not in so I asked his helper who knew nothing about it and said that no leather had come in. So he called Roy and Roy had told him not to worry about it and that he would be ready for my car the next day. This made me a little worried because if no leather had come in how was he going to fix my car. Was he going to pull something off the shelf and hope he can come close to matching it? I asked the helper if he had any samples of work he could show me, he said no. To my surprise when I looked around there was absolutely nothing to see in the shop, so I jokingly asked if they did good work and he said yes.



I came in the next day at 8:00 am and Roy came out and said that he did not want my business and said that I was going to be too much of a problem. He said that if I needed to see a sample than he did not want my business. I told him that I did not want him to touch my car unless I saw a sample. He said that 90% of all the work he gets is from referrals, I told him that I did not get a referral and had no idea how good his work was. He than asked me if I was going to have my car painted by an auto body shop would I ask to see the paint, I told him no but would want to see another car that they had painted to see how good the work is. I also told him that it would have been nice for him to call me and tell me rather than wait for me to re-arrange my day and spend time getting my car there.



There was just no getting through to this guy and he was a complete jerk and I have never in my forty years have ever been treated this poorly.



I highly recommend going to ���Jay���s Upholstery���, they were fantastic, even let me match the leather with samples they had from Mercedes���.imagine that! The best part was they only charged me $185 to do the job and it looks wonderful.



So Roy������ thank you for not excepting my business!

P.S. Shame on me for not doing my home work first, but when I asked a few people around town if they new anything about Roy and American Trim/Glass they all said the same thing������.Roy is a real hot head with a bad attitude, he gives out high prices and anyone who tries to negotiate he tells them to go somewhere else. Keep up the good work Roy!
