Laboratory: Our clinic is equipped with a variety of blood analyzers for performing complete blood counts, chemical profiles and electrolytes. We use numerous "Snap Tests" which will give quick results for parvovirus, heartworm, thyroid, cortisol, Feline Leukemia or pancreatitis. In some cases, we will utilize several outside laboratories for complex specimen analysis. We can perform routine fecal analysis, urinalysis, dermatology scrapings and slides for cytology in the office.

Surgical Services: Our small animal surgical suite and anesthesia equipment can accomodate a variety of surgical procedures. Advanced patient monitoring equipment assists with patient safety while under general anesthesia. A variety of elective procedures such as spay and neuter surgeries are performed as well as more advanced orthopedic procedures such as cruciate ligament repair and bone fracture repair.

Dental Surgery
Dentistry: Good dental care is important for keeping your pet's teeth healthy, but it also helps prevent certain systemic problems. Our dental service includes teeth cleaning and polishing, tooth extractions and minor oral surgery. In some cases, your pet may go home on antibiotics.
Veterinary Surgery
Doc is a native Coloradan. He was born in Longmont and raised in Lakewood, CO. After graduating from high school, he attended the University of Colorado, Boulder, where he received a BS in Molecular Biology in 1974. Two years later he was accepted by the University of Cambridge, England, to study veterinary medicine. While a student, he did externships with Rossdale, Hunt, Peace, Hopes and Ricketts of Newmarket and Kirkbride and Carter of Cambridge. In 1981, he graduated with a degree in Veterinary Medicine and Surgery. Upon returning to Colorado, Doc had internships with Littleton Large Animal Clinic and Belcaro Animal Hospital, both near Denver. In 1982, he took a position as an associate veterinarian and moved to Delta, CO. In 1986, he opened Dorr Veterinary Hospital and it has been at its present location since 1987. His area of special interest is orthopedic surgery. Away from the clinic, he enjoys spending time with his son and working on his farm. Doc's other interests include aviation. He is an instrument rated private pilot and also holds a multi-engine, commercial license.

Laboratory Services
It is recommended your pet be on heartworm prevention for the entire year. It is administered one time per month by pill. Depending on the specific product your veterinarian chooses, heartworm prevention medication can prevent other parasite infestions, including internal parasites (intestinal parasites). Some of these parasites can be communicated to people! A simple blood test will get your pet started.
