Nadine I had the same experiences with them. I just finished paying of a large bill to fix their system that had to be fixed last July. Now my tank sprung a leak. Since water is so darn expensive I asked that they come that day. They did and told me my tank needed to be repaired and that it would cost an astounding $780.00. Feeling like I had no choice I said fix it. They came the next day and left a bill for my wife for $964.64 charged 125.00 emergency visit. Now every company I have ever worked with takes off the visit charge as long as they get the repair bill. They refused..... Plus I have been using them for more then 12 years now and have found that their filters are super expensive compared to others. IE Pelican is about $30.00 a year vs. hundreds for Water Doctor. Water Doctor you need about $360.00 a year in Salt. pelican is salt free, it is easy to change the filter, just unscrew the filter. Water Doctor charges a lot to do this for you. Lastly Water Doctor used to allow you time to pay off their high priced maintenance and repairs. Now they do not accept payment plans. Oh and the repair I was going to have to pay $964.00 for would have been zero with pelican since their jacket and filter tank are guaranteed for life. So I looked up what are the best quality water filtration systems and guess what Pelican is number and I can not even find Water Doctor listed in the top brands. from my experience, if you love being overcharged, if you love having no warranty for life, if you like to buy 5 bags of salt every 3 - 4 weeks and if you like to have to backwash your filter system and pay for the water it throws out and wastes then I guess you will love Water Doctor. As for me I am done with them. Just ordered a Pelican PSE 1800. Told water doctor to take it out since they would not offer terms on what I thought was an exorbitant. charge

I do not even know how to begin, but I will say that we have been loyal Bill Miller the Water Doctor clients for over 4 years. Just recently had a renovation in my kitchen. and he asked us if we wanted to purchase a hot/cold dispenser/insinkerator, which was to be installed along with our perviously used triple osmosis. When the technician arrived and began the installation, we learned that he was charging us $1100 for the insinkerator, which is under $500. #1- he never gave us a price. #2-When we called him and asked for justification on why he was price gauging for an item we could purchase for 1/2 the amount, he started double talking us, trying to cover his tracks. Had the audacity to now say he was going to only charge us $600 for the insinkerator and instead charged us $500 for re-installing the triple osmosis and new filters. I have no problem with people making a living, but I found his dishonesty and behaviour extremely offensive and unprofessional.... He has lost our business.

Sam was the best installer I have ever dealt with. He was on time for which was very important because I had a meeting to go to after the install. He explained how the carbon unit works and what to expect. Sam cleaned the whole work which is very important to my wife. That night was great. My son got to take his first crystal clear bath in 4 years of yellow water. If that wasn't good enough Sam called the next day to make sure that I was totally happy. I can't wait to get a reverse osmosis unit from The Water Doctor. Thanks Guys

I spoke with Adam who advised me that a reverse osmosis system wold be a good investment for providing me with great tasting water. He sent a technician to my home to install the unit. The tech was very polite and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend the Water Doctor/Suburban Water for anyone who would like to have great tasting water.

If you go with this company, get ready for a very hard sell - you will be promised the world. We were told that with a $2000 whole house system there would be NO maintenance, we were getting a great price, etc..... not at all true. There is lots of expense that goes along with these systems. They charge top dollar, but don't use great products (our plumber was sure that a 4 month old prefilter had NEVER been changed as it had basically collapsed on itself and prevented water flow to the house). They do, however, show up.
