New Beginnings

My brother attended back in 2010 he quickly realized that this place was a joke Jason was dealing Zbars out of the place and there was no control of anyone his stuff was stolen.



Unfortunately my brother was murdered Dec. 2012 trying to help another addict. Fast foward to today 7/28/15...my mother calls me crying saing she received a phone call from Donna asking about getting my brother into rehab again...as you can imagine the emotions that have now been stirred up by this unwarranted phone call.



Please call the local police department about the halfway houses and rehabs you send your loved ones to! Best wishes to your family and an amazing recovery to those who suffer!

All the owners/managers are addicts that continue to use and continue to steal from the clients. I stayed there and I'm from nj. I relapsed, they said go to detox and then I could come back so I went, to come back to them telling me "someone took your room you can't come back" about 80% of my things were stolen while I was gone (all my stuff was "safe" locked up in the office while I was gone for 3 days) then I asked for the rest of my money they had in an account for me was taken. They said they took the rest for rent. At this point what could I do?! I was states away from home on the streets with half a suitcase left and not a dime! Thank god I had long lost family In Florida I could stay with till I could get home. All I'm saying is this place is horrible and anything but a "safe place to recover" there are drug dealers in the place and they are allowed to stay because they can pay rent and that's all they care about. The one manager stole the other managers car and all of our money for a day trip and relapsed with it. We never say that money again... Rules are different for everyone in this s hole! I wish there was something I could have done to get back all the money they took from me but all I can do now is warn everyone else and hope this no good place gets shut down! Oh don't forget the Haitian drug dealers wandering in the front of the houses all day. They know they will do well in front of this house. Donna you and all your employees belong in prison for all the money and lives you stole over the years!

The person that wrote New Beginnings is the only joke. I know who they are and they work for a competitor, shame on you. New Beginnings changed my life and the lives of so many.

I spent about 6 or 7 months at New Beginnings in 2008. I violated my probation and thought a half-way house in sunny south Florida beat spending the rest of my sentence in county. I looked at the website and everything looked on the up and up. Wow, was I wrong. When I went I was not ready to quit using, and soon after I got there I realized no one else there was ready either. I shoot up opiates on a daily basis with all my roommates and never got in trouble. I was also an alcoholic and one night staff found over TWENTY bottles of liquor in my closet and all I had to do was spend one night away. Came back and started doing the same thing. I saw people get kicked out, saw people overdose (one died), and when I compared myself to the others who got kicked out, I saw one major difference ... My rent was always paid weeks in advance. Basically that meant that if I wasn't flamboyant about my drug and alcohol use, I had no worries. I was high everyday I was there and went to the bars almost everyday as well, even though I was on curfew my entire stay. As long as you have money, you can do what you want. Getting drugs in delray was easier and cheaper than any other place I lived. They enabled me my entire stay. Luckily, about a year later I finally got myself clean, but unfortunately not before I contracted the hepatitis c virus during my stay. Thanks for the structure and discipline New Beginnings....
