Contemporary Pediatrics

My two boys go hear for healthcare maintenance and prevention. Staff is always friendly and very professional. Their facility is very welcoming to both parents and children.

I am expecting within the next week and had planned on choosing Dr.Myers as my Pediatrician; however, I luckily asked to meet him before we had the baby. When I initially called the office I had asked if he was flexible with parents who elect to put their children on alternate vaccination schedules and the front desk had explained that he has several patients who are on such schedules and that he is flexible and understanding of such circumstances. Upon meeting him he made a joke about a pregnant woman scoring drugs on the street (apparently one of his younger patients, not sure why it was relevent? Perhaps because my fiance and I are younger?) When I mentioned the idea of an alternate schedule he was very pushy and continuously interrupted me saying he is not comfortable with it. He insinuated that my fiance and I do not have an honest relationship regarding hepatitis B- though both of us are vaccinated and negative. He even went as far as to describe seeing children buried from their parents choosing an alternate schedule. Needless to say- I was very upset after speaking with him, he was ill informed and disrespectful of our rights as parents to choose how to vaccinate our child. I understand that parents that are pro alternate schedules will always be met with doctors that do not necessarily agree; however, I just wish the office had not wasted my time and misinformed me about Dr. Robert Myers.
