A simple answer to this question is yes. The more complete answer is "yes, but what your cat or dog is vaccinated for depends on what their lifestyle is like. In other words, we don't vaccinate all dogs and cats the same, we vaccinate your dog and cat based on it's lifestyle. Our GENERAL vaccine guidelines are this. Cats-If inside only Feline Distemper every 3 years, and rabies once a year. Of course the annual health exam is as important for your pet as the vaccines are. If your cat goes outside, we also recommend a Leukemia vaccine be given at least every 3 years. Dogs-Distemper/Parvo given every 3 years with our special triennial vaccine, Leptospirosis given annually if the dog is exposed to lakes, streams etc., Rabies annually, Bordetella and intestinal worm check every 6 months, and a heartworm antigen test annually.

Chemotherapy-With the major medical advances that have occured in veterinary medicine over the past decade, one of the most impressive has been the ability to help dogs and cats with cancer survive longer. Many of the cancers we diagnose have good to excellent responses to a number of different chemotherapy protocols we perform, but unfortunately, some cancers are not responsive to chemo. We have a number of very effective and quite safe chemotherapeutic agents in our clinic and have had some excellent success with many of our cancer patients.

Laser Surgery
Laser Surgery-Two years ago we bought a Carbon Dioxide surgery laser for performing many of the surgical procedures that we do. After using it for awhile, I don't know how we did surgery without it. Compared to scalpel surgery it is virtually blood free. The post operative inflammation and pain is also signficantly reduced when we use the laser. Because of the superior benefit the laser provides, we offer it as an option on many of our procedures, but on some of our procedures it is mandatory as the scalpel method may not be appropriate.
Spaying and Neutering
Preventative medicine-We provide basic preventative medicine for our patients. This includes, but is not limited to vaccinations based on your pets lifestyle, age etc, spaying and neutering, and nutritional counseling. We also perform and recommend routine dental prophylaxis for our patients in order to maintain their oral health.

Laboratory Services
Established in November of 2000, Foothills Veterinary Clinic is a fully functional, state of the art veterinary hospital. We offer a wide variety of services including preventative medicine (vaccinations, spaying and neutering), ultrasongography, in house laboratory services, chemotherapy, and orthopedic as well as laser surgery. We also have boarding and grooming services available for our patients. Our clinic is modern and clean and our staff members are polite and enthusiastic to help you and your pet. Grooming- At Foothills Veterinary Clinic, we have grooming and bathing services. If your cat or dog needs a hair cut our groomer will be able to fix him or her right up. If your pet just needs a good cleaning, we have kennel attendants that are excellent at making dirty smelly pets sparkle like they were fresh from the spa.
Dog Training
Mrs. Doris Dressler is one of our clients and she has extensive experience in the dog training field. She should be starting training classes regularly in our parking lot come the spring of 2010.
