The food was wonderful. I had cube steak mashed potatoes green beans and a salad. my husband had chicken livers sweet potato sweet potato souffle all good we also had the cucumber tomato salad coleslaw and french fries. Now my son had the Barbecue Chicken & Ribs the ribs were dry and overcooked that was the only flaw in the food. The service was terrible she basically threw her food on the table didn't say a word and never came back we had to ask somebody to get her to give us the check. When she showed up with the check she said it down didn't say anything and walked off

The Oakwood is such a great place to eat. Everything they make is good and fresh. Also, the place is owned by a Dalton native, Casey Carpenter. Support local Dalton business!

The best southern food Dalton has to offer!

This little dive-y restaurant is the best meat-and-three I've ever had in my life. My family goes nearly on a weekly basis because it is affordable, quick, and yummy! They have seven or eight meats to choose from including beef, chicken, turkey, and even fish, cooked any way (fried/grilled), and have ten or so vegetable sides to choose from. They also have a number of sandwiches, soups, and saladsfor an even quicker in/out lunch. The service is snappy, hometown, and above all, excellent. I have never had anything from there that just wasn't anything else than spectacular and they have such a variety of things, so every family member is completely satisfied( and eating off each other's plates)!

I NEVER take the time to write reviews, but this little Mom and Pop restaurant really is one of the best that Dalton has to offer and they definitely deserve a try-- you'll be hooked and Cracker Barrel will taste dry, underseasoned, and basically crappy! We commute about 45 minutes just to get there from Chattanooga!
