Overall
A Great Local Place for Fantastic Pizza

I was ecstatic when this place first opened, because of my love of freshly made New York style pizza. I have eaten here at least twice per week since it opened and I could not be happier with the place.

My reason for writing this review is that I noticed a review written by MezzoAJ that I believe to be unjustifiably harsh and I wanted to write a quick counter to her statements. Here are the first couple of lines:

"My husband and I stopped by this new local restaurant and ordered the night's special, which was lasagna. The restaurant is in shades of blue---rather odd, since this color has nothing to do with the colors of Italy. the tables were almost bare of any decoration and the decor was pretty non-existent."

If the color blue in an Italian restaurant is confusing to you, then perhaps you should look up the definition of Azzurri (or Azzurro, as the "i" makes it plural).

Having worked in the restaurant business previously, I know that it takes time to work out the kinks when starting a new restaurant; or any new business for that matter. In my experience, Pizzeria Azzurri has worked out these kinks since, and the food and service are both incredible.

Thanks for the great food and service.

Overall
Mixed reviews for food, poor service

My husband and I stopped by this new local restaurant and ordered the night's special, which was lasagna. The restaurant is in shades of blue---rather odd, since this color has nothing to do with the colors of Italy. the tables were almost bare of any decoration and the decor was pretty non-existent.

We waited almost 10 minutes for our salad and drinks to arrive (salad was just OK, and came with plastic tubs of dressing.), but the lasagna was outstanding. The thick bread stick was white on the top and uncooked and doughy in the middle. When we pointed this out, new ones were baked (if given a minute, we would have asked them to keep baking the ones we had), and of course, did not arrive until we were almost done.

The second time the bread was burned on the bottom and golden brown on one side and underdone on the other. The bread had no butter, olive oil, seasoning, garlic, or anything on it, nor were we offered anything. I had to go to the counter to ask our waitress to refill my drink, and we asked another waitress to get us the bill, after waiting for several minutes after being finished, and being ignored by our waitress.

The restaurant did not have a lot of people there (4 tables and 2 waitresses), so I don't know why the service was so poor. This place came so close to being a great local place, but poor service in this economy probably means it won;t last......

Overall
WOW....Great Pizza and Wings.

Pizzeria Azzurri opened not to long ago. My family and I tryied it only days ago and were headed back tonight. There pizza is very good and great flavor. They have a very nice resturant with all natural wood. A great family place with a warm cozy feel. They have great deals and there lunch specials give you a lot of food for only $5. I hope they serve beer and wine soon...that way my wife and I may enjoy it as much as the kids.....Way to Go Azzurri and Good luck.
