A few weeks ago I stopped in at Animal Control to drop off some blankets for the dogs. I couldn't resist looking at the dogs, but didn't see what I was looking for. When I was leaving a young women asked if I had seen Willow. She then took me back to the dogs and introduced me to Willow. A beautiful Shep/Lab mix that was eager for a new home. I took her out to my car to introduce her to my poodle mix Lilly and the two hit it off. Willow came home with me and hit it off well with all the cats (5) plus Lilly.

She is an absolute delight, very well mannered, only two potty mistakes, and is a wonderful sweet soul.

Thank you all very much. Lilly needed a non-cat buddy and the cats needed a big warm body to cuddle with; Willow fits the bill to a tee.

Thank you again and wishing you the best.

I am very heartbroken and upset with Lake County Animal Control more so with Victoria Beasley. As most of you know I have been fostering a dog named Junebug who was pregnant and had puppies while in my care. I have had them for 7weeks now and junebug about 9weeks. Junebug stopped nursing over a week ago because the puppies were bitting her and they were eating on there own. I took all of them in with my daughter Kayla, her friend Lizzie and my son, to get there shots. Victoria took Junebug to the back to give her a shot and she was in the office behind the counter. Victoria let me know days ago that Junebug had a home when she was ready. She is ready for a home and has been ready and so are the puppies. Victoria said that it would be better if she stayed overnight so the couple that will be adopting her could come in the next day and fill out the paperwork and adopt her and take her home then. I felt bad about doing that because I didnt want her to have to stay in a cage overnight but I gave in and left her so she could go to a good home. She also took two of the puppies for the same reason. After she took the puppies my daughter Kayla asked to see Junebug to tell her goodbye. Victoria told her no that she cant see her. She started balling her eyes out in turn i started crying and so did her friend and my son. I had to fight with her to beable to tell Junebug goodbye. I dont get it..why and how could you do that to the family who took care of her for so long. We were not expecting to leave her at that time. So come to find out that Victoria lied to me and junebug does not have a home. As soon as we left she was taking pics and posting her on petfinder and on her page for adoption. I was more than willing to take her and the puppies back home and care for them until they found homes. I dont get why she feels the need to take animals away from good people that want to take care of them and put them in a cage and lie to me about it when they could be in my home being loved and taken care of. I have been looking for a home for all of them and have successfully found homes for three puppies and possibly had a home for junebug until she told me that she had a home. I dont get what I did to deserve to be treated this way and to be lied to??!! Well Victoria, I dont regret having junebug and her babies a part of my life at all. I love all of them and always will and really hope they do find a good home. Thank you for giving this blessing to me and letting me beable to be a part of their lives. I do understand your point that its easier for them to be adopted out if they are there but I thought they already had homes and hate to see them sitting in a cage when they could be in my home and loved and taken care of. <3 June p.s. im thankful that one of the puppies aka Dash is in my home and that I was able to take her home and give her a loving forever home. I hope that Junebug and the other two babies find a forever loving home soon!

Overall
poor service

when i went to the shelter looking to adopt . they had a guy show me around to the dogs . i stated to the guy that i was interested in adopting a dog . when i entered ,i was looking a pit bull . i own a pitt bull already so im familar with this breed! the man stated that i didnt want a pitbull that it would eat my kids and any other pets . he said this about all pitt bulls . when i said that i didnt agree he then stated that i didnt know much !that there where to many charges and fines for owning one. i felt very offended at this mans response to this. he should be there to help the dogs . NOT to insure that they get put down. i will not look at this shelter again .
