We have worked with Al Longoria at Longoriahaus Dog Training in Houston, TX since 2011, when he was recommended to us by a friend. We have been extremely happy with his training methods and the results that we've gotten. Al is dedicated to training both dogs and owners, and has an outstanding system for working with dogs that is very effective. He customizes the training depending on the dog and its needs, personality and temperament. Our dog is a German Shepherd with a lot of drive and energy and Al taught us to work with her effectively to teach obedience and handling. He came to our home for our sessions, which was extremely convenient, and was willing to do extra sessions if needed. He is also honest and ethical, and very realistic about how well our dog is doing and what we need to do going forward. We continued on with advanced training and continue to be very happy. I highly recommend him!

Longoriahaus Dog Training provided just what we needed to make our dog adoption a success. We found a Lab mix with a loving, affectionate disposition. She just didn't come with much training or self-control! Al Longoria was recommended by friends and a local pet shop and he went above and beyond our expectations. Our dog adored him---and, more importantly, she learned from him. He worked with us to make sure that we were giving her the instructions and consistency that she needed in a clear demonstration that she could understand. In June of 2011, my husband and I adopted a 14 month old German Shepherd. We knew that we needed help training “Markus” since we were not that familiar with the breed. “Longoriahaus Dog Training” came up several times in our research and Al Longoria came to our house for an extensive evaluation in July . We were very impressed by Al’s friendly, yet professional personality. To tell you the truth, I felt that I was in over my head with the new addition to our family, but Al’s reassuring and optimistic ways gave me hope. We were unable to start training until early September and in the meantime Al was always available for advice and encouragement. Once our weekly sessions began, the transformation in Markus was remarkable. The positive reinforcement and reward based system that Al uses to train dogs is not only appealing to the dog, but it works like a charm. In December Markus graduated and we have the privilege of continuing to work and train with Al on Friday nights and Saturday mornings. We now have a dog who is purposeful and fulfilled. Whether you're looking for a more obedient canine companion, a Schutzhund rockstar or anywhere in between, my husband and I highly recommend Al Longoria. From day one, we knew Al genuinely cared about making sure we had all the tools needed to bring out the best in Bach, our Doberman puppy, now one year old. We especially appreciated his training philosophy: Rather than using harsh methods that intimidate and "break" dogs, Al focused on what motivated Bach -- what created the most eagerness and excitement in him -- and then trained US on how to leverage that drive (at which point we learned Al was not only patient with dogs, but people, too!). Al is an amazing trainer that totally transformed my dog in 8 short weeks. My dog was very fearful and lacked a lot of confidence before Al came. I was unable to take my dog for a walk because he was so fearful of cars passing by. Now, I am able to take my dog on long walks along busy roads without any issue, he is by my side walking calmly and confidently the whole way. Al is very passionate about what he does and makes training enjoyable for both you and the dog. The best part about Al's training is that he truly cares about the relationship you have with your dog and teaches you how to improve on that relationship.
