El Zocalo

This is the most authentic, delicious mexican food you can find. I ordered 3 or 4 dozen pork and chicken tamales and a side of beans for my family at Christmas. I knew how great they would be when I noticed women carrying huge bags of prepared "masa" up to the cash register, as many people make their own tamales and simply buy the "masa" from El Zocalo. The tamales were great! Everyone in my family loved them! Also, the price is right! They also have a huge variety of foods including mexican sweet bread or "pan dulce". Take it from a second generation Mexican American, who lives in Long Beach, this is a great place for catering food or for "fast food" to go or to stay (there is a small dining room). Delicioso!
