Black, Toxic Mold is a slimy, greenish-black fungus professionally referred to as Stachybotrys and it has been “linked to the death of babies from respiratory bleeding (pulmonary hemosiderosis), and as a contributing factor to illnesses such as bronchitis and asthma”. The fact that black mold has formed in your basement or crawlspace is not unusual. In many cases, it is Cladosporium and not Stachybotrys. The only way to know is to have a local microbiological lab examine samples of the mold from several locations. Regardless of the mold type, the source of its growth is always the same – moisture. If you correct the drainage and moisture problem in your basement and crawl space, you will create an environment that most mold and dust mites will not be able to thrive and reproduce in.
We provide repair services, encapsulation systems, and dehumidifiers that can protect your crawl space from mold and mildew, rodents and other pests, and from possible structural damages.
