Kenneth B Simmons Associates, LLC ( KBSA ) is a privately owned business established in 1946 under the ownership of Kenneth B. Simmons, for the professional practice of landscape architecture and site planning, embracing all essential phases of such practice. From 1968 through 1992 Kenneth B. Simmons Associates operated as a partnership including Kenneth B. Simmons ( 1968 - 1982 ), Sidney T. Gattis, Jr. ( 1968 - 1992 ) and Kenneth B. Simmons, Jr. ( 1972 - 1992 ). In 1992 the firm restructured again as a sole proprietorship with Kenneth B. Simmons, Jr. as owner. The practice of this office remains broad in both scope of projects and intensity of services. The practice ranges from advisory services to comprehensive consultations, environmental permitting, master planning, and full developmental design services for a wide range of projects. In each of these areas, our team-based interdisciplinary approach means every aspect of your project will receive the highest level of design expertise and project management to assure its total success. This award winning design firm is the lead design firm for The River Alliance on the Three Rivers Greenway. Our responsibility includes all development, permitting, assisting in SCDOT grants, design and construction related activities. The portions of this project in Cayce and West Columbia recently won the South Carolina Landscape Architect's Design Award and the Department of Natural Resources Stewardship Award. Kenneth B Simmons Associates, LLC has worked extensively with numerous towns and cities in South Carolina to develop and restore historical areas including parks, streetscapes and railroad corridors.
