Outdoor Architects installed a drainage system in the rear of my home. Cost $1500. About 4 weeks later I had another landscaper install a patio floor for me. When they began work, we noticed a strong feces-like odor coming from all three drains. When they were opened, it was clear to see that the water had not drained, causing the water to stagnate. When the drainage system was dug up to find the problem, we say that the drain boxes were not attached properly to the drain pipes, there was no gravel or mesh laid under and around the drain pipes for stabilization. Most importantly, there was no swale or pitch to allow the water to drain downward. I went on the internet to learn how they should have been installed after talking with the patio installer, and I was astonished to see that none of the proper materials or steps had been done in the installation. I took pictures of the area, and sent them to Outdoor Architects, and was told that a foreman would stop by. I asked the patio installer how much he would charge to correct the non-functional system, and was told $1200, mostly to cover the labor for tearing out the faulty system. I paid a total of $2700 for a job that should have cost $1200. I will never use or recommend Outdoor Architects again in this lifetime.
