Celebration Pizza and Pasta

Although we had never been there and had not seen Sal in years ... it was a "Celebration" indeed!



Do not be deterred as you drive into the older strip mall setting! From the moment we opened the restaurant door and our mouths started watering from the enticing aromas, we knew that Sal had once again brought a very special piece of Italian Heaven to our lives!



The worries and burdens of the world quickly disappeared as we settled into the warm embrace and friendliness. Like a cherished gift on Christmas morning, one quickly forgets the outer wrapping of the restaurant and immediately savors the treats to be found inside.



Recovering from sensory overload and so many menu choices to be considered ... we opted out of the main dining room and chose to dine near the kitchen in order to fully enjoy the entire experience. Great choice! We could have ordered out and ate alone as a family at home, as well ... but what fun would that be?!?



The fresh-baked Garlic Knots melted in our mouths as we waited for are order to be prepared ... all the while being Blessed as we watched Sal and his staff scurry about cheerfully satisfying everyones' hunger for the incredible hand-made delights. Like every other offered selection, each ingredient is personally selected by Sal as he once again brings his family's recipes to the table.



The food is expertly prepared under the direct supervision of Sal by Mikey and other genuinely friendly people who, having experienced the highs and lows of life, are pouring their hearts and souls into this endeavor. Not in it for the money (obvious by their low prices!), they are simply trying to be a blessing to all those who enter this little corner of Italy found unexpectedly on the streets of Cocoa.



As the Garlic Knots disappeared, and her freshly-made Chicken Caesar Salad was devoured by my daughter ("Sal, you really need to bottle and sell your home-made salad dressing!"). our other entrees arrived. As my wife and son shared a mouth-watering Chicken and Mozzarella Stromboli (too big for even the two of them to eat), I settled into one of the evening specials ... Eggplant Parmesan ... individually prepared from a hand-pick eggplant straight from Mama Vera's garden, of course! (We miss you, Papa Tony!)



When the evening was over and all was said and done ... we knew that this story is not over. Unwilling to leave any remnants behind, we grudgingly pulled ourselves out of the warm embrace and departed with take-out boxes in-hand, full stomachs, warmed hearts, memories of people loved (We love you and miss you, Carmine!), and personal commitments to return very soon.



I'm thinking that's probably going to be ... "Tonight!" Hope to see you there!
