Pool Project with Home Construction We look at about 3 different builders before we decided to go with Advanced Watershapes. I did a lot of research on the local companies around before we did decide to take the "dive" into managing both the construction of the home and the pool at the same time. So I was searching around for a good company that I could rest some of my worries on and know they would handle the heavy lifting for me. I found an article about one of the other large companies that was local and I believe they still are local just under a similar name owing a upwards or over a million dollars to the people who give them their materials so they were immediately out of my list of contractors. I did not want to get a lien on my home for lack of payments from the company. So I finally found AWS and had faith they would be able to finish the pool at the same time we got our C.O. on our home. Come to my surprise the pool was actually finished before the home was and the company was professional enough to make sure that the pool was cleaned and stayed running for a month while we finished the house up. I am sure the other contractors probably to a mid day swim to cool of lol but hey, I just wanted to say this is a good company and from everything I have heard they have a few business' which are local in the community and own their own offices. Don't quote me on this but this is what the local gossip is. Well I just wanted to give you a shout out and tell you and your crew at Advanced Watershapes that the pool and spa came out Top Notch. Not a good experince with this company. Why you ask, well let me tell you. First They started construction before we had H.O.A approval, now because it wasn't anything wierd we were going to be approved. They could have cost us a fine for not having H.O.A approval, but because we had a sprinkler system they tore that up when they started to dig, costing us $600.00 more because the sprinkler guy had to now do more work and use more material, than if he went in first located all the heads and switches, and rerouted the pipes. Ok, so now we've had our glitch, right? Wrong. you pay in phases, but I had to keep calling them to find out when they needed payment because it's weeks after when they said the phase would be complete,I had to do this multiple times, this adds more time to finish, thus costing me lost income as we were turing our house into a short term rental and we have to have a pool completed. What was supposed to take 14-16 weeks (their numbers) took 27 weeks. I thus missed the summer season of renters. Then I had a tennant ask about the switch for the bubbles for the spa, I called adv. watershapes and asked where the switch was, they said "did you buy a blower?", I don't know don't spa's come with that standard, I mean I've been in many spa's and they all have lots of bubbles, it is the defining character of a spa vs. a small round pool. They said well there a naturally bubble in the line and for $80 we can come out and adjust it to put out a few random bubbles. So we have to go buy a blower and have it installed thus costing us more money than if we had it installed from the start. I will not use them for this install. They really need to work on their communication skills and what is standard and what is not.
