Mangia Italiano on Third

Sadly, this place has a lot of positive press. Showing up on a Thursday night seems to be a bad idea at this restaurant. Mangia's waitresses are surly and clearly ready to go home at 9PM. Although the restaurant claims to be open till 10, service in the front stops at 9. I requested that the food be brought to us slowly, and we were served with soup AND Entree within 7 minutes. The food was mediocre at best. Sauce was generic and acidic, the Penne had an undercurrent of cheap vegetable oil, and too much flour in the sauce. The chicken in the Penne was clearly pre-cut and frozen from a bag. The highlight of this expensive ( average of $12.00 per plate) meal was the owner who was affable, but non apologetic about the service. . . The Pino Grigio was a mid range pour, and not cheap for a glass of wine. Mud Pie, and Coppa Coffee for dessert worked well, but was not really memorable. Music in the back was a mix of standards, and latin jazz. Most of the clientele were happy-hour left overs.

This is by far the best Restaurant I have been to in many years, Service, Food, atmosphere. WOW!! Good job. I love the sky and the relaxing design of the restaurant.
