Tomotto CO.

My condo building (small building) on the north side of Chicago hired Tomotto to do snowplowing for the 2007-08 winter season. They have proven to be completely unreliable in clearing snow in a timely manner. Their website clearly says that snow will be cleared by 8:00 am. However, on numerous snowfalls this winter that ended overnight snow was not cleared until well after 8am. On at least two occassions snow was not cleared even when I got home from work at about 6:30 pm, even though snowfall had stopped hours and hours before hand. During one particularly heavy snowfall (when snow stopped falling sometime around 10am) I returned home at 6pm or so only to find that the snow had not been touched at all. I called Tomotto and was told that a crew had been out in the morning - which was absolutely not the case. I'll take them at their word that they weren't lying to me, and they that just messed up instead. Needing to get out of my garage, I took it upon myself to shovel most of our driveway area myself, not having the time to wait for Tomotto to stop by. Interestingly enough, Tomotto charged us for TWO visits for this trip despite the fact that only 1 visit was made, it was not made in a timely manner at all, and when they did stop by I had already done a lot of their work for them. After much back and forth with Tomotto, they finally took the 2nd visit charge off, but we still had to pay for 1. I have no idea what their landscaping services are like, but if it is like their snowplowing services, they cannot be relied upon. One time they were late were were told it was because one crew decided to quit early; another time a truck broke down... always an excuse. DO NOT use them.
