Established in 1971, South Chicago Parents and Friends is a nonprofit organization that serves more than 200 senior citizens with developmental disabilities. The organization serves the residents of Deering, Shore, Pullman and Roseland counties in Illinois. It offers assistance with the development of self-care, communication, gross and fine motor skills. South Chicago Parents and Friends organizes vocational, basic academic and computer training sessions. The organization provides a range of recreational activities, such as cooking, gardening, and arts and crafts. In addition, it offers home-base support services. South Chicago Parents and Friends also hosts fieldtrips and sports training events. The organization is located in Chicago.
