Do not let yourself be turned away for not having an appointment. By law, they have to take you as a walk-in. They cannot turn you away. You may have to wait until all appointments have been waited on but YOU CAN WAIT as a walk-in. The Taxpayer Bill of Rights is hanging on the wall. You have the right to prompt, COURTEOUS service. Go in with nerves of steel because you will be yelled at for not having an appointment, but I can assure you, you have the right as a taxpayer to be seen. Tell them you are happy to wait and take a seat. By the way, the IRS will tell you that they have no appointments available but when you go into this location at around 1:30, you will find only one or two others in the waiting room. Each appt only took about 10 mins so the wait isn't bad. Yes, I tried to make an appointment but it was booked out for two weeks and I needed something sooner.
