Alderman Library serves advanced undergraduate and graduate students, as well as faculty members at the University of Virginia. The library specializes in various reference services and general collections in the areas of humanities and social science. It houses a collection of books, journals and newspapers. Alderman Library offers articles and books on several subjects, such as anthropology, archeology, astronomy, history, biology, chemistry, economics, English, media studies, psychology, mathematics and sociology. The library provides various maps produced by several agencies, including the Department of Agriculture, National Intelligence and Mapping Agency and Central Intelligence Agency. Its Tibetan research collection consists of more than 3,000 volumes containing about 8,000 titles of texts. Alderman Library additionally offers resources by the government information resources. The library is located in Charlottesville, Va.
