The purpose of this essay is to write about my horrible experience with the other residents of Windsor West Apartments in Champaign, IL, the staff of the business, and the apartment itself. A single bedroom apartment is a bit expensive, but at this price I expect the absolute best. Instead, I find that there is a whistling sound in my bedroom from some crack in the frame of the window that the maintenance person could not find, thus not fix. My neighbor is noisy and when I inform management about it, they write that she has been living at Windsor West for a few years and no one has ever complained about her. It seems they want me not to complain either, instead of address the noise problem. I informed my neighbor of the noise she was making directly and instead of trying to be quiet, she made more noise. She at least once played her music at 11 pm which is in violation of the Champaign County public nuisance ordinance. The stress on my health resulted in a hospitalization. The animals

Moved in to the new phase II and love it! Insulated very well, appliances are pretty good, the dishwasher leaves a little to be desired. My electricity went down from 375 a month during a January month at my old place to 35 dollars here! I had to complain about some noise and they were very nice and said they would deal with it. I am so glad I moved here! Only thing I would change is that they need an additional closet in the one bedroom, or an outdoor storage closet., there is some wasted space in the 1/2 bath that could have contained a closet. As long as they continue to only lease to responsible, renters this place is the best in Champaign and I have lived in the other "up scale" apartments on the north side of town.

The quality of these apartments is going down by the day. Initially announced smoke free breezeways are not being maintained by residents and the rules are not being imposed by community managers. Signs for non-smoking areas have not been put as mentioned in the lease documentation. Initially there were no dogs allowed. Lately dogs have been allowed. Since the ice has melted all you can see is dog poop in the open area. No care is being taken by residents with dogs or by community managers to keep the environment clean for everyone. I donot see anyone with a dog carrying a poop bag with them. If these things are not taken care of the highly touted luxurious apartments will become 1 or zero star and will get advertised as expensive dump.

I like this place decently. I agree that the Hot Point appliances kind of suck. You have to be very careful not to load too much stuff into the dishwasher or it doesn't get anything clean. I have had tank tops straps and strings from clothes get caught in the washing machine too-- I think it's just a crappy design inside. The office staff are always great and helpful. Maintenance is usually decent-- though they don't like to be called in the middle of the night. The fire alarm went off one night and I called the emergency line, and when the maintenance man finally called me back he pretty much said to suck it up and there was nothing he could do about it. Not what you want to hear at 3 in the morning! Overall, decent place for the money. I renewed my lease for next year already.

The staff at Windsor West are extremely nice and helpful. They are efficient and quick with maintenance needs and everything else; really, they are the ideal people you want running an apartment complex. In response to the first review, my electricity bill is also pretty high, much higher than the average $89, and the washing machine has also broken some of my camisoles. The pool looks great and I can't wait to swim in it! However, there is much construction going on very early, I usually hear it around 7:30am.. but there's nothing the staff can really do about it, what needs to be done needs to be done! Great, safe community though and again, I love the staff! They really make the place.

Windsor West apartments look great on the exterior, and maybe even in the interior. However, the appliances are extremely cheap. The washing machine has broken numerous amounts of tank tops and camisoles. The dishwasher can barely get anything off the dishes. It takes the dryer at least an hour and a half to dry anything. The walls and ceilings are very thin, too. I can hear every step my upstairs neighbor takes, and sometimes she can even wake me and my roommates up at night. They said the pool would be done in September, but it's March. The construction crew begins at 7 a.m. and are obnoxiously loud. Our power bill isn't "50-75%" cheaper, either. In fact, I think it's more expensive than other places I have stayed. Windsor West is also on Facebook, and their statuses are very unprofessional and childish.
