Wingate by Wyndham

TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT! We were told they overbooked but got us a room elsewhere. First I asked why we didn't get called? Also asked if they could bump someone that hadn't checked in yet & was not there for the wedding? I asked for management. The receptionist (supposedly alone with an overbooked hotel) said there was not a manager on staff but wrote down her phone #. Called but got a message saying that "the # dialed was not accepting calls & to try again later". I asked the girl if she had a different # but she said that was all she had. How sad that her manager left her alone on an overbooked night with NO way to reach her. My sister and her family went to check in & were told that they were not in the computer. They did not have their confirmation # with them (no time before the wedding to drive 30min each way to get it). After going through the same thing we did they had to leave. The front desk began looking for an available room elsewhere with no luck. They finally admitted there was a "computer glitch". Then they said she booked the room for a different date. I have read similar reviews. Also, my sister was given a DIFFERENT # for the manager! They were able to leave messages but never got a call back. They got a room at Super8 & were told their room would not be paid for & ours was. After discussing Wingate agreed to pay for the charge. They were told that Wyndham refused the charge at check out. because my brother-in-law was "belligerent & threatening" to the receptionist & she felt intimidated. WHAT?! Actually he said that he felt bad for her that her manager left her alone to deal with all this & even complimented her that she was handling it the best she could. This happened to 2 other couples that attended the wedding
