Renaissance At Carol Stream

These apartments are old and outdated but management still demands top dollar. Water, sewage, trash, and pest control have doubled in the past two months. Whereas, none of these services are provided on a consistant basis. When speaking to the property manager about the rent increase, Monique Hernandez was unprofessional and rude, and refused to discuss the financial increase. She walked away and refused to give me any accurate information. Beware! Rent at your own discretion.

This place is a Joke they lies hard to get security deposit back but want Rent on time. Never fix thing

I have had nothing but problems since day one. The only time I get anyone to respond is when I am literally yelling. Stove/oven didn't work, dishwasher is disgusting and moldy. My bathroom had water damage previous to my moving in and instead of fixing it, they just painted over it. I insisted they fix it. 2 weeks later after I was promised it would be fixed and fixed correctly, I am still breathing mold every and night. my clothes are now starting to smell like mold because they didn't fix it. they just half way pretended to fix it. None of the advertised amenities are even available after the leasing office is closed. So if you work a normal 9-5, you won't be able to use the pool, work out room, basketball court or business center.



And as I was told, don't bother complaining to the corporate office cause they just send all the messages to the property manager who is just a liar. And just makes empty promises and then nothing ever happens.

If I could give zero stars I would. This place is a joke. The manager and team suck. They never answer the phone and never return your calls. They lie and go back on their word and try to make you feel like you're the problem or inconvenience. They never follow-up on promises. The neighbors above us constantly have music blasting late and night and early morning and after several attempts of calling about it our floor including myself get a noise violations, they said it was a reminder however it said violation and would be put in all our tenant files. Stay away! I'd rather eat ramen noodles for every meal to pay rent for a higher rent apartment with a better management team than this crap hole. They are extremely unprofessional and rude.

They are horrible people that work there.

They will try to take money from people recovering from cancer who don't owe money and have paid every single rent check on time.

I rented in July 2013 until September 2014 and paid them on time every month. I was diagnosed with cancer and did not work for 6 months during this period. Times were hard with no money, no job and the awful side effects of cancer, but RENT was always paid on time. I told them when my lease was up in July I would be living there MONTHLY because i could no longer afford the rent with my situation. I was waiting for the Dr to give me the OK to move out of state back with my mother so she could help me. I was released by the Dr in July and I

TOLD THE MANAGERS AT RENAISSANCE I WOULD BE LIVING THERE 1 MORE MONTH.

They said .... OK its no problem you will be charged MONTHLY. While checking out in AUGUST they said i needed to sign a "60 day notice waiver"....i kept telling them ..."this makes no sense! I am living MONTHLY why am i signing this?"...they said "it was just a formality everyone does it and it was no big deal" ...1 WEEK LATER i get a bill in the mail from creditors for $1700.00 because i did not give RENAISSANCE AT CAROL STREAM a 60 day notice!!! I called the creditors and they said that the manager at RENAISSANCE AT CAROL STREAM would have to call the creditors and void the paperwork. I called the RENAISSANCE AT CAROL STREAM manager and told them to call the creditors and resolve the situation because i have no money i have no job, i am living with my mom and i am trying to rebound from my sickness. They said there was nothing they could do and it was not there problem. They are heartless liars who do not care....



In addition to this:

They have a pool and a workout gym that are open from 9am-6pm???

...if you work normal hours you will never be able to us the pool or gym.

...there maintenance was no good

...they have landscapers cutting grass at 7AM on Saterdays

Management has no care for the property nor the tenants. Parking - hope you get out of work at 4 pm, Noise - Always parties because students from trade school that live in the complex. Grounds - fence of the garbage units came down still down there some grass but it looks like herd of cows came through. Safety - car break-ins all the time and drug sales on every day bases. Construction - if they could use duct tape they would. Maintenance - waiting waiting waiting waiting nock nock nope postman, still waiting nope maintenance guys hit a kid he'll be late (true story). Staff - refer marry bridezilla then talk to anyone at the office. Overall - I think I might write a book about "the worst apartments to live in" starting Renaissance of Carol Stream. If you are moving in or live there "SORRY". "GET OUT"

It might be under new management and they might have remodeled the club house but don't let that fool you!!!

I have animals in my roof and they refuse to address the issue. I was told it would be taken care of and then put off for months and months and now they have no intentions of rectifing the problem until next year sometime. I won't hold my breath - I was suppose to be one of the first bldg's to have a new roof replaced last year and ended up being the last. They charge now for storage space which use to be included in the price of your rent.They also charge for heat even though your heat is turned off in your unit.

They tell you what you want to hear and don't follow through. I would not recommend this complex to anyone!!!
