A native of Jefferson City, MO, Christina attended the University of Missouri – Columbia where she graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. She then worked as an RN in St. Louis in the Emergency Department at Barnes-Jewish Hospital before pursuing her advanced nursing degree through Maryville University. After graduating with her Family Nurse Practitioner degree in 2016, she and her family relocated to Southeast Missouri to be close to family.

Internal Medicine
Summa cum laude graduate from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry. She earned a doctor of medicine from Saint Louis University School of Medicine. She completed an internship in internal medicine from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, where she also completed a dermatology residency and served as chief resident 2017-2018.

General Surgery
Unlike a plastic surgeon or other type of surgeon, board certified dermatologists are specifically trained in the treatment of skin cancer and can provide options other than surgery. However, if surgery is required, our practice offers the most current treatments available to provide you with the highest cure rates. Below we have detailed some of the more common surgical services that we provide, specifically skin biopsies and a specialized technique for skin cancer removal called Mohs Micrographic Surgery. Both Dr Limbert and Dr Moon have completed a fellowship with the American Society of Mohs surgery. This designation as Fellow, ensures that our providers are experts in the treatment of skin cancer and the Mohs procedure."
Mohs Surgery
Mohs surgery is an outpatient procedure performed in the office under local anesthesia. The tumor is removed with narrow margins to avoid excess removal of normal tissue. The specimen is then processed and viewed under a microscope, which takes as little as 30 minutes or as long as two hours. During this time, we apply a bandage and have you relax in our waiting room. The anesthetic that numbs the skin typically lasts for about two hours, so you should not feel pain while waiting. If it appears that some of the tumor remains, then more tissue is removed and again viewed microscopically. This process is repeated until the cancer is completely removed, usually in one to three surgical stages. Some cases can take longer. Although this is a time-consuming, tedious process, it provides the highest cure rate and the least amount of scarring.

Botox is a prescription drug that is injected into muscles to reduce frown lines between the eyebrows, wrinkle lines on the forehead and crow’s feet lines around the eyes. This medication safely relaxes facial muscles for four to six months, giving you a more rested and youthful appearance. Skin Cancer
The skin is an incredibly complex organ and sometimes a skin biopsy may be required. A biopsy is a sampling of skin to determine if you have skin cancer or to more accurately diagnose a problematic rash. The biopsy procedure itself is relatively quick but does require a small injection to numb the skin. Sometimes a small stitch is required to close the defect created from the procedure. At Advanced Dermatology of Southeast Missouri we offer minimally invasive cosmetic procedures, performed in the office, with little or no downtime. Chemical Peels
Superficial chemical peels renew the skin by increasing skin tone, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, smoothing overall skin texture, and by fading areas of dark discoloration. Additional, these peels are often used to clear acne prone skin. Superficial chemical peels typically employ glycolic or salicylic acid in varying concentrations with minimal downtime. These are typically performed by one of our trained aestheticians and may be used in a series to achieve the best results.
