They have really good sandwiches here. Quite the selection. Great location in downtown Calistoga. Friendly staff:)

Provided by DexKnowsAbsolutely rude staff. They should be ashamed of themselves. Scrooge must own this establishment, so much for the holiday spirit in Calistoga! We arrived 15 minutes prior to close and rather than a greeting, we were told they would not prepare us a hot sandwich; however, we could order prepared foods from the deli or a cold sandwich. Although I was surprised at the lack of a courteous greeting, having worked in the restaurant industry throughout college I completely understand how he felt after a long day. I ordered a sandwich for my elderly mother, and I chose a crabcake so he would not have to prepare a second sandwich (as he was visibly irritated at having to make one plain turkey sandwich.) I was then bluntly notified that I would not be able to eat inside the restaurant because they wanted to clean the dining area. I was told we could sit outside (keep in mind that it is dark, the weather is in the low 40s and the windchill factor probably pushed it to the high 30s - and the wind would probably blow the food right off our plate.) I must have heard him wrong, I actually had to repeat it to him. "So, you're telling me to take my elderly mother outside on this chilly winter night even though your restaurant is open?" He simply responded, "Yes." I stared at him in disbelief. At that point he went into a back room to ask permission for us to eat inside - even though the restaurant was still open and two people are eating in the dining room. He returned and started preparing our sandwiches. He still didn't even tell us if we had "permission" to eat inside their business. Another man walked to the cash register, and rudely stated how much money we owe them. At that point, I told them we don't feel welcome at this establishment and would choose to eat elsewhere. If a business is open until 6 PM, shouldn't they courteously serve during those hours? And not send elderly patrons outside on one of the coldest nights of the winter season? So much for the holiday spirit. Cruel to send an elderly woman outside during business hours because you don't want to be inconvenienced. We will never return to this business again and ask that you do not support them either.

Absolutely the most rude staff I've ever encountered at a restaurant/deli. They should be ashamed of themselves. Scrooge must own this establishment, so much for the holiday spirit in Calistoga!
