Marks Reasonable Tree Service

I don't write reviews lightly and normally I go out of my way to give credit to a contractor when it is due ... However ... In this case ...

The owner of this company is simply one of the most abrasive and combative people I have ever done business with. His company did a reasonable job with the work although there was a simple misunderstanding about a small part of it.

The contract that HE provides states that stumps will be cut down to within "2 to 4 inches" of the ground. While cutting down one of my larger trees, his chainsaw chain broke. He stated that this was all he would do and we could pay him another $250 to grind this particular stump.

It is 16 inches tall and an eyesore.

He never returned to cut it down to the contracted size and it still sits in my yard "as is".

I paid him in full for the work to be completed per his provided contract which was never completed.

I was eager to work the situation out and would have paid him accordingly (more if it made sense) had he simply explained himself in a rational manner. Reasonable people work things out.

When asked about this, the owner changed from a seemingly adult business man into an abrasive name calling child flailing expletives and accusations. He then hung up on me ...

Initially, Mark (The owner) was soft spoken, personable, and helpful. Both my wife and I were very surprised by the magnitude and abrasiveness of his response which was totally unnecessary and avoidable.

If all you need is trees cut down, this company might work for you ... If you need work to be completed "as written" or to be treated in a civil manner you should probably look elsewhere ...
