Incarnate Word Academy is a coeducational, Catholic institution that offers a range of learning and extracurricular opportunities for students. Opened in 1853, it serves students in 3K through grade eight. The school's academic curriculum includes religion, English Language Arts, math, science, social studies, Spanish, technology, physical education, art, and music. Incarnate Word Academy offers an English as a Second Language program at the elementary and middle school levels for students who lack proficiency in English. IWA's library offers a variety of educational resources and materials including the STAR testing program, Accelerated Reader, and Britannica On-line. The school provides guidance counseling. IWA provides opportunities for students to participate in sports, chess, student council, and scouting. Incarnate Word Academy offers an after school tutorial/homework program.
